Denninger: Fix the Budget Now, or we Fail

KD:  The budget deficit has to be brought negative, and this means a cut in federal spending by 50%.
Which, incidentally, only takes spending back to 2000 levels.
We don't have a choice folks, and we have to do it now. 
We must get rid of fully half of all federal spending and we must run a primary budget surplus including all off-balance sheet items such as Social Security and Medicare.
I know nobody wants to hear it, but that doesn't matter.  It has to happen.  If it doesn't, and there's no evidence that it will, then at some time well before the 2020 line is reached the market will come to the conclusion that we will not fix the problems. 
On the day that happens yields will ratchet and the spiral - the last one - will begin.

No matter what happens on the political front, the arithmetic can not be negotiated or ignored.

If politicians do not immediately fix the spending curve, it will be fixed by reality.

When that happens, every worst nightmare becomes inevitable.

Death Valley Field Test

James over at Death Valley reports on a pair of Oakley gloves that Failed in 2 days.

I'm a Hatch guy - I have never had a pair fail me.  They fit well, preserve tactile function, and do not split seams the moment you start swinging and connecting on mandibles.

III Percent 527

I recently registered III Percent & III Percent Patriots as a 527 political advocacy group with IRS.

A 527 is allowed to advocate for issues, but we are not allowed, as an organization, to directly advocate for the victory or defeat of any specific candidate, nor may we coordinate any effort with any campaign.

A 527 is required to account for every penny in and out - it is a political organization that is absolutely transparant, publicly listed for all to see.  There can be no shannanigans.  I decided on this type of organization so that everyone could see exactly how every dime is spent.

Our book will be published under this entity, and any profits from selling to "Mainstream" folks will be plowed back into the organization.  I will underwrite the costs of copies for our Masters, select media and a number of copies that I'll send to various Lefty groups, just to watch their heads explode.  The book will be available at Amazon as well, for the general public.

Those of you who agree with me that the III should engage in the political fight in addition to other fronts will understand the need for such an organization.  Nobody involved with the organization will earn a paycheck, unless we actually grow to the point that hiring a professional DC Legislative or PR expert becomes prudent.

I have a concept for a hardcore video I'd like to produce this spring or summer that puts a visual and audio frame of reference out there for the III.  There are several things we can do with a legitimate organization, and you will help plot our course just as you helped to shape the book.

We are the III.  All of us.  If we do not have one another's backs, we are nothing.

I am no leader.

I'm just the guy who registered the paperwork.

Never hesitate to send me a note, offer a suggestion, cuss me.

Without you, they'll crush me (again) for daring to square off against the Status Quo.

With you, perhaps we can help write the next chapter of American History with a favorable ending for Liberty.

Politics alone will not get us out of the mess that is America today.  But political activity is essential, even if we are only laying the ground for the other side of the Ruckus.

Thank you all who contributed to the conversations about the book.  We'll have a few more before the final product, but for now we'll get back to our regular programming while I work on compiling the book behind the scenes. 

The book has taken shape in a non-traditional format.  Every page will be a bite-sized and single thought, easily consumed by our sound-bite Political Class and the few reachable folks in the population who may still have a chance to be awakened.

The longest pieces will be the those contributed by you, surrounding our Platform.  Thus far several of you have suggested that you'll be submitting work, but I've only rec'd one thus far.  I'll have to cut entries in the near future so layout can begin - so if you intend to submit, give me a heads-up.  It's cool if you've changed your mind - it is a big deal to put yourself front & center with our Masters.

I've enjoyed talking with all of you on the project, and the percentages submitted on our polls say that most of us are on the same page.  We're not there 100% on everything, but the 80% rule seems to be holding strong.

One thing is certain: Our Masters will know where we stand.

Unless we correct the moral compass of our Countrymen that permit this sort of behavior - from the moral relativists to the parents who do not teach their children properly, to the apologetic fools in the Nanny/Coddle segments of society, it is pointless to fight for Liberty.

A society that breeds this sort of behavior will never hold true Liberty.

Does this work for you?  Should it be:

The Arms of the Militiaman extend to all anti-personnel weapons of the modern soldier portable by a single man.

Where do we draw the line?  Should you have a shoulder-fired AA missile system if you can afford it?  What about a fully weaponized tank?  F-111 with full weapon suite?  C-4?  Landmines? 

The question will be one of the first to come up from challengers who get a copy of our III to Congress in their hands.  What is our position?

Someone has to say it...

From Karl Denninger: ...and a federal budget that cannot be balanced even if every program save five - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment and other Welfare are eliminated.  That's right - cut the rest, including defense, to zero, down to the level of the guy sweeping Obama's office floor, and we still cannot balance the Federal budget.

You and I know this stuff, and our Political Class knows this stuff.  But the professional politicians earn their paychecks based on the Status Quo - a Status Quo that is murdering the republic.

We have one final round of Platform discussions for our III to Congress book, and I think we need to call for an immediate end to all Entitlements.  There are ways to do it so that our elderly poor are not left starving.  But the systems must go, now. 

Until someone puts it out there, in their faces, and pushes hard, no one with a political future will touch the topic.  So, we include it in our book and we take the hardest Right position on the field, so that Ron Paul's proposals even look modest by comparison, and give our allies some cover.

Arizona Sues...

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is counter-suing the Feds for endangering her Citizens by failing to protect the border and enforce immigration law.

Suggestion to the Governor: Act like a Governor who has endangered Citizens.  Too many Americans today reach for a lawyer to handle problems.  How about putting the Arizona Guard on the border and shoot invaders?

You'll take PR heat from outside your State, but you'll have done the job your Citizens elected you to do. 

And it won't take long before new invaders choose Texas/New Mexico/Cali rather than Arizona...

Problem solved.

Kerodin.com: Rectitude & Ruckus

The painting is Memento Mori.  The translation is Remember you must die.  A Memento Mori is literally a reminder of death - a thing that helps keep the fact that you must die in the fore of your mind, so that you can choose to take the proper decisions when confronted with challenges.  The flower will wither and die.  The skull is obvious.  The sand will pass through the hourglass.

I wrote two columns at Kerodin.com today. The first is on Rectitude, doing the right thing.  We could use more of that.  Without more people giving real weight to a proper moral compass, it will not do us a bit of good to wrestle our Liberty back from our Masters - because an immoral People can not maintain Liberty.

The second is a fresh look at the Ruckus.  We need an ...or else... in our book to Congress.  Why would they care about a book demanding our Liberties?  A book is simply more pages to be ignored, just like the Constitution.

But if we demand our Liberties back, or else...

Now we have their attention.

It is not without risk.  But, life is not without risks.  Liberty is not deserved if we are not willing to risk for it.  We are lucky in our generation - we rarely have to defend our wives and children from lions and tigers and bears, oh my.  (Arctic Patriot may be an exception to that, he lives in Grizzly Country!)  The animals in our food chain that pose threats to us in our generation wear black robes and wear suits in elected offices.

Let's defend our families.

Denninger: Tea Party new hires who sold out on PATRIOT

UPDATE: In the end, only 4 R's voted No on PATRIOT. 

Last night’s ballot saw 248 vote in favour of allowing the extension to proceed, while 176 voted against.

Just four Republicans, including Congressman Ron Paul, voted against the extension. On Tuesday 26 Republicans had voted against. The other three Republican nays were Chris Gibson (N.Y.), Raul Labrador (Idaho) and Tom McClintock (Calif.).

Denninger says it all.  And there will be more votes...an  opportunity for others to cross the lines and vote For extension.

The Washington Establishment is, apparently, capable of warping a significant portion of who we send.

So, if we are to have any chance for victory through the polls, we need to send different people.  Do we have the time?  Can they get elected?  Are there even enough real Patriots who could do the job, much less would be willing?

I am not sanguine any of it matters.

Keep swinging, but know where the Exits are located.

Denninger explains the truth we all know...

Most boys learn early on that if Mom is going to count to three, then numbers 1 & 2 are free. 

Most boys also learn early in school that a threat is useless, void of merit, if it is not believed and not executed.  Bullies are notorious for calling smaller boys on their threats.  The bully isn't afraid to swing.  If the scrawny kid swings back, he earns respect.  He may still get the snot stomped out of himself, but he can take the whoopin' with a bit of dignity.

But if he threatens to punch the bully back, then fails to live up to the threat...it's over.

Karl Denninger spells out the reason why Government in Washington (and to a lesser extent, State and Local) does not waste any energy taking We the People seriously: Because they understand that we will not swing.

Denninger: The effectiveness of protest only extends as far as does the implied threat of violence.

Imply violence in America, you will get stomped by the Stack.  Initiate violence, and you will die.

That leaves us with protests...that mean nothing to our Masters.

Biden argues for High Speed Trains

High Speed Rail is the project the Left is pushing.

How 20th Century.

Technology is taking us into the air in personal car/VTOL vehicles, that is our future and it is closer than most people think.  With electronics available in the very near future, and maybe even today, such a machine will not require pilots or drivers, just a suite of electronics that will take you from your driveway to your destination.

While I have no use for Government spending on research beyond legitimate Defense, I'd prefer our Politicians at least look forward rather than backward.  And if we get Government regulations out of the way, companies like Moller (the SkyCar pictured above) could be brought to market and made affordable quickly.  Imagine the revolution for our economy as the new technology goes mainstream.  Imagine the time saved for commuters who now spend hours each day sitting in traffic.  Consider throwing a duffle bag into the trunk and getting from DC to prime hunting in the Maine woods in 90 minutes.

That's the American innovation we need to work toward.

Not high-speed cattle cars.

Heritage says not re-enacting would be irresponsible.

Michelle Bachman voted FOR it.

Watch what they do, not what they say.
