Marx v. Jefferson - Choose your side

TL Davis has a typically outstanding column this evening entitled the Criminalization of Politics.

Something that is difficult for many of us is to put current events into proper historical perspective.  Most of us tend to look at the world as if everything started on the day we were born.

What is happening in Wisconsin today has happened before in our history, more than once. The Alien & Sedition Act was today on steroids.  Lincoln's actions would have made Adams blush.

From TL: Is this the sanctioned approach to politics now? Gangs? Thugs? We don't like a law we threaten to kill the governor? We pretend that there is a connection to Hitler and just do what? What are they proposing? Is the president complicit in these threats by backing those groups making the threats? Should we break some legs to get our political will done?

The answer is, yes.

Progressivism is literally killing Americans and making paupers and criminals of millions more.  It is time that we defend ourselves, by any means necessary.

The political divide between us today is no longer reconcilable.  The chasm between us is that immense space between Marx and Jefferson.  There is no meeting in the middle.  There is no moderated settlement.  The only solution is the political death of one group or the other.

We are spooling up, Right Now.  The sooner we get to the mechanics of winning, the better for everyone, winners and losers.  One group or the other must be run from the country.

There is no other way for this story to end.

Wisconsin Solution - Workarounds

I just emailed every R Senator in Wisconsin.

They say they can't vote without at least one D present.,

So I suggested that one of the R's switch parties for the day, vote, then switch back.

Workarounds.

Now, if they need 20 Senators, my plan won't work.  But it's worth a shot...

So, the State politicians in Wisconsin got serious about addressing the root causes of their fiscal problems, and the Organized Left  moved swiftly to put stupid people in the streets in protest. 

Note the arguments, note the willingness for people to act without regard to common sense, note who is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Note the 1:85 ratio is probably low.

Power

America represents about 20% of the worlds GDP.  Combined with that of the EU, and the "Western World" generates just about 45% of the GDP of the planet.

Why?

Arguably, the "Western World" is the youngest of the tribes, yet by huge margins, the most productive, with the highest standards of living.

Lefty's will claim it is because we have exploited the rest of the world.  But, why is it when one looks at the inventions and contributions to humanity, such a disproportionate number of items on the list come from the "Western World"?  Why is there such a large population of the world's oldest tribes that still live in huts, while there is not one Western Country with such a low standard of living?

The Asian cultures are nearest Western, yet the GDP of Texas, California and New York are essentially equal to the entire GDP of Japan.  China, the world's second largest economy, is matched by the cumulative total of the top 15 States in America.  The least productive State in America (2008 numbers) is Vermont, yet it still ranks at about 108 on the list of world economies, beating out some 70+ nations.

Militarily America has no equal.  Texas could probably invade and hold 75% of the countries in the world if they chose to do so.

As bad as things are in America, let us not lose sight of how great - exceptional - we are. 

The only way America will lose our status as the most productive and innovative nation the world has ever known is if we permit the most stupid among us to give it away...

The most stupid among us are doing that, aided by the fact that as a nation too many of our Countrymen are becoming ignorant and detached from traditional American and Western values.

There will come a time in our beloved America when we will be faced with the need to rid ourselves of the immoral and treasonous among us, or yield everything that is good about our species, and what humanity can be.  There is not a single culture on the planet that can advance the species as can our tribe, if we return to our traditional American values.  Even other Western cultures can not compete with American values.  The entire Western world combined barely matches our productivity.  The real advances as a species did not occuer until America came into existence.

We are the best in the world because we refused to be like the rest of the world.

If we assume their values, (or lack of values), Western or non-Western, we surrender the best culture that has ever existed.

If we assume their values, we deserve what we will get...lower standards of living, tyrants, poverty, more disease, more war...

Witnessing History

Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain.

We are witnessing the rise of the new Caliphate. 

It may not take every State at once, it may not reach Saudi Arabia right away.  But what we are watching is the rise of Islam as the dominant political force in the Middle East.  It will become the stated objective of these Governments to spread Islam.  Ideology will openly and publicly replace commerce as the primary objective of Governments in the region.

Our Government now, according to Drudge, intends to smack Israel, again.

There will come a time in the near future of our republic, if we survive that long, that we will have no choice but to wage serious, unbridled war upon the people of Islam, or they will rule us with a barbarity that is beyond the comprehension of the average American.  Our military will have to kill them, en masse, across the globe, or we will perish.

They chop off heads of Infidels, and our elected officials heap them with praise and money for their religion of Peace.

Government is not Evil, but Men can be

My paternal grandfather had a career in the Navy Surface Warfare Lab.

When he was dying in the late 70's, we had a hospital bed in the living room so he could be comfortable.  He had some serious drugs pumping through his body for more than a year as he withered away.

60 minutes came on and discussed light bulbs and how the Government dropped bacteria into the NYC Subway to test effects.  To our surprise, my Grandfather was able to tell us the story before we heard the words coming from the magic moving picture box.  He had first-hand knowledge about this Op.  He had first-hand knowledge about quite a bit, it turns out.  We never learned my Grandfathers exact place in the system relative to these events, but he obviously had a first or second row seat.

The point: There are Countrymen who will do evil things while wrapped in the flag.  Many such men are drawn to Government.

Here is a list to be considered.  I give it weight because of the incident with my Grandfather.

Do not underestimate what the other guy will do to you.  Ever.

National Budget 101

FedGov receives about 2 Trillion in tax revenue.

They spend 3.5 Trillion, which means the difference is borrowed or printed.

Look at the cumulative of Entitlements, Interest on the Debt, and "Other Mandatory" spending:  It totals more than 2 Trillion. 

If we immediately cut Entitlement programs, the deficit would go away tomorrow. 

Yes, there would be pain.  Yes, we would have to find a way to make sure our oldest and most vulnerable do not go hungry as they have come to rely on their FedGov handouts.

But the pain today will be far less than the pain of doing nothing until the entire system collapses under its own weight.

Then, everyone will taste of Death.

Now consider if FedGov only spent what was Constitutionally enumerated...

Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and John Adams worked together to compile thie ...long train of abuses... in the Declaration. 

I have listed them below.  What is our modern list?

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
