Just words?

Either it means something to you, or it does not.

I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Even if you have never formally had to speak the words, the most fundamental Obligation of Citizenship makes this oath yours to bear.

Look at what you do, how you live.  Do your deeds match the words?

Do you permit others to interpret the Constitution for you, or do you read the words for yourself to determine Right from Wrong?

At this point in time, any claim that the political remedy has failed is objectively incorrect.  Every Patriot who dismisses voting as pointless, mocks those who endeavor to effect change through the political mechanisms written into the Constitution, is wrong.

Our voting system works.

It just happens that for several generations, the folks with whom we disagree have used the system more efficiently than have we Patriots.  They have been better at voting their guys into office than have we.  I'm sorry to burst your bubble - but facts are facts, even if they may be inconvenient.

If we are not willing to be honest with ourselves and one another, what claim have we to the moral high ground?

Founding Principles matter...

America missed what was, perhaps, our last chance for genuine Liberty when we failed to elect Pat Buchanan.

For those who disagree, I challenge: Tell me which President since Reagan is better than Pat?

Bush 41 or 43?  No.  PJB would have been better than either.

Clinton?  Obama?

Mr. Buchanan's latest is worth the read, as usual.  But particularly today, his words should strike chords in every Patriots heart.

I need to make a point.  In my columns at Kerodin.com and here at the blog, I often refer to "...so-called "Patriots"..." and it is obvious that I am sneering at and challenging those who claim to be Patriots in their words yet act far differently in their deeds.

Too many readers think I am only pointing fingers at one or two specific "Patriots".

Most of you know by now that if I intend to name names, I'm not too shy about it.  I abide a self-imposed no-fire truce with particular members of the III Community.  I don't care what they may do, I care about my own behavior.  When, and if, I ever choose to release myself from my no-fire protocol, it'll be epic.

Until then: When I use the generic "...so-called "Patriots"..." please understand I am including everyone who talks the talk yet fails to walk the walk.

That includes NRA.  That includes Oath Keepers.  That includes politicians who claim to be Constitutionalists, yet rarely meet an unconstitutional act they don't rubber-stamp for approval.  That includes every R in the republic who manages to live with reasonable gun control measures.

It might include you, too, if you fit the definition.

And if you don't fit my definition of a useless piece of genetic garbage who profits from the deliberate and active denial of Liberty while invoking the title of Patriot...then I didn't mean you.

 This is why Politics matters in our fight for Liberty in the republic.

Every man and woman who has ever been paid for violence understands that when you unleash the civil and moral restrictions holding the average human animal in check, when you enter into widescale violence, our lower brains dominate.  The Professional can keep it together.  The amateur takes trophies and collateral damage numbers go up.

Am I calling our young servicemen Amateurs?  Only in this sense: They do not have the experience and perspective of a veteran who has been in the real world of violence for decades.

Every nation in the world knows to stand down when Americans are seriously on the march.

This story helps to illustrate why we, as a nation, should keep our noses out of everyone else's business, and why we Patriots must refrain and restrain our impulses to unleash such Hell upon our neighbors.

My work is not to convince Left and Right to make nice and live forever in happiness.

Ain't gonna happen.

Left and Right can not coexist.  Liberty must die if Left wins.

I am simply taking notes for the next evolution of Americans.

Perhaps they will be smarter than are we.
