Obama: No "Right" to walk away from the Union...

Our founding fathers established the Constitution of the United States "in order to form a more perfect union" through the hard and frustrating but necessary work of self-government. They enshrined in that document the right to change our national government through the power of the ballot -- a right that generations of Americans have fought to secure for all. But they did not provide a right to walk away from it. As President Abraham Lincoln explained in his first inaugural address in 1861...

Here's the rest.

Judge Napolitano

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, thus, with the same instruments they would use upon us. If the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had had the firepower and ammunition that the Nazis did, some of Poland might have stayed free and more persons would have survived the Holocaust.

Most people in government reject natural rights and personal sovereignty. Most people in government believe that the exercise of everyone’s rights is subject to the will of those in the government. Most people in government believe that they can write any law and regulate any behavior, not subject to the natural law, not subject to the sovereignty of individuals, not cognizant of history’s tyrants, but subject only to what they can get away with.

Did you empower the government to impair the freedom of us all because of the mania and terror of a few?

Here's the full piece.

III Pride

The Redoubt project has been getting national media attention.  Everyone from Associated Press to BBC to radio to tv series offers are coming in, and even Colbert picked up on the project.

The Marxists are losing their minds over the concept, and as you can expect even the Establishment Right folks are getting their panties in a bunch.  But every spike in traffic due to these stories helps a few more Patriots find the projects.

We win.

There will be announcements in the near future about progress that will make you proud to be part of a patriotic community that gets work done and advances Liberty.  I know I am.

Give him your guns and you'll learn what "Master" means...

Bloomberg.

He is now telling doctors how many painkillers they can give you.

He has ordered how large your soda may be.

He will remove the salt from your diet.

How do you think he'll behave once he takes your weapons?

And he is just one of many, many millions of Enemies of Liberty who mean to be your Master.

It is always personal

There is considerable hand-wringing about what NRA will or will not do regarding the 2A fight.

Stop worrying about them.  They will either be an ally, or not.  They will be on the field, but you can't control whether or not they will be Good Guys or Bad Guys.  They will never vote for genuine 2A Liberty, the most they will ever do is challenge the rate of infringement.

The major gun builders will never disobey FedGov mandates.  If Obama tells them to close their doors to the public, they will close their doors.  Ruger will never build anything in defiance of NFA and throw them off the backs of trucks to partisans.

Focus upon the ground beneath your feet.  Find a few others who will do the same, and stand at their shoulders or backs.  Wyoming again has taken point and floated a draft of legislation challenging FedGov, daring them to try to enforce 2A infringements within the state.  Let's see how many states follow suit.

But in the end we return a singular point: Government is not the problem - individuals who abuse the power of government are the problem.

Challenges to Liberty have never come from Government, and never will.  Such challenges are always personal

You will never set the sights of your rifle on Government.  You might put your sights on individuals who abuse the power of Government.

Never forget it is not NRA or FedGov or any other organization that is seeking to infringe upon you - it is always individuals.  Those individuals live among us.  Their families go to our grocery stores.  Their friends are known to you.

You are never more than a few moments away from someone who directly or indirectly abuses you by infringing your Liberty.

It is always personal.

Remember that...

You are being probed...

Graybeard is spot-on.

What you are seeing in headlines is not their final offer.

They will take whatever they can get, but they will settle for much less.

Consider how relieved and thankful the broader gunner community will be when the only thing that passes is an expansion of the mental health prohibitions (to be determined under ObamaCare bureaucrats).  Boy, who cares if crazy people can't buy ARs?!  (Remember that this bunch considers any household making $250k a year to be "rich" - can you imagine what their definition of "Crazy People" will be?)

A very, very wide net is being cast right now, and the real game has not yet been revealed.

Here's the link to Graybeard's analysis.

IIIGear

Folks, I just learned we have a small number of orders that went out over the Christmas break that haven't arrived for some of you yet.

Most orders have been sent, except for a few that have backorders from Condor, Cold Steel or KA-BAR.   I'll dive into it tomorrow and see if I can track down where things stand.

Most Liberty Congress shirts have shipped, so if you haven't seen yours yet, it's coming. Still waiting for hoodies and OD shirts, but I think we finally found a printer that is going to work out.

Remember folks, as I have said many times: IIIGear is not a business and I am not running it like a business. You can get the same gear elsewhere, faster, and in some cases cheaper, than buying from IIIGear.

If you buy from IIIGear you are helping support our III activities, but you just have to understand we don't re-order an item until we are out of stock, and we do not order in bulk from our vendors.

Anyone who gets frustrated, just let me know and I'll hit the refund on PayPal.

What is it like at your water cooler?

In many ways I live in a bubble.  Living here in DC the topics on most minds mirror the headlines, because this is the stadium in which the game is played, and everyone here, in some way, shape or form, is part of the game.  For instance I went to the vet's office the other day, and had to listen to no fewer than 4 people whining about how badly persecuted FedGov workers are - because each of the 4 people was either a FedGov employee or had a spouse on the tit.  And there were only about 8 people in the office.

But what about "the real world"?  DC is not the real world.  Reality is skewed here.

Where you work, is gun control the topic of choice among people who don't usually spend much time considering politics?  Is the American Idol crowd marching in your town and demanding 2A legislation?  Is the topic even a topic on Main Street?  Are people in your daily lives talking about civil war?  Are you over-hearing the old blue-hairs at the next booth in the diner talking about Bingo or gun shows?

Or is it merely those of us who pay attention to the game?

What I see is a purely manufactured news cycle to push the political agenda.  I see all the usual suspects have simply decided it is time for the 2A fight, and not much interest on Main Street.  I haven't seen a single Million Moron March or even candlelight vigil of weeping civilians demanding 2A.  I see the usual suspects: Politicians, Lobbyists, Leftists.

I see no grassroots push.  Well, I do see a grassroots push - at gun shows and gun stores.

I also see a few of us who get it remaining calm - because we knew this fight was inevitable, and now seems imminent.

But I am curious what you are seeing from "regular people" in your life.

Mosby

Mosby has written what should be common sense, but sadly, isn't.

I commend it to you all.  If it doesn't apply to you, great.  But I bet you know at least a dozen people who could benefit from it - so print it out and give them hard copies.

It isn't only about militias and gun shows - it is about life.

I honestly believe there was a time when behaving as Mosby suggests was the norm, rather than the exception as it is today.  I believe there was a time when if you didn't behave this way, you had a very hard time surviving in life and finding a mate, so the breeding of more stupid people was less common than today.  I also believe that the core of our problem as a nation can be boiled down to those who behave as Mosby suggests, and those who do not.

When we stop tolerating people who should not be tolerated, and we stop tolerating behaviors that should not be tolerated, then we'll begin to un-fuck ourselves as a People.

JM credits his wife as the impetus for the column.  Good for her.

Simo Häyhä: A song

BonnieGadsden sent me a cool link about Simo - a song based on the work he did on the Communists.  The group is Sabaton.  I'd never heard them before - they have a Godsmack/old-school Metallica flavor that works for me.  OK - that's enough pop culture.

Well, here's a smidge more, a brief lyric from another song that may or may not speak to you:

Human beings in a mob
What’s a mob to a king?
What’s a king to a god?
What’s a god to a non-believer?
Who don’t believe in anything?

We make it out alive
All right, all right
No church in the wild

Alright, out of my head now.  It's scary in there.  ;)

TL Davis

From TL: I have been asked what we should do now that such actions have been taken against us. From the advice of the founders: form into squads, identify targets and work to undermine and/or destroy those targets.

The III Congress will be meeting in April.

James Madison wrote this...

Liberty and order will never be perfectly safe until a trespass on the constitutional provisions for either shall be felt with the same keenness that resents an invasion of the dearest rights, until every citizen shall be an Argus to espy, and an Aegeon to avenge, the unhallowed deed. ~ James Madison, published on January 19, 1792 in Thomas Jefferson's National Gazette (here).

The Father of the Constitution told you that keeping Government Employees in check is on you

For anyone who may be waiting for permission, that is about as much permission as you'll ever get.

Hard Things - Be the Firstest and come with the Mostest

There is good reading on several of our blogs today.  Many people are linking a piece by Bracken (Here it is at WRSA).  Matt Bracken graduated SEAL/BUDs when I was 11 years old.  I'm guessing that puts him at about age 55-60 today.  Let us hope he and men like him are still with us when things get sporty, for the older guys who have been there & done it will always be an invaluable resource to the young filled with piss & vinegar who have to carry the most weight.

In a post below I laid out the average ages of our Founders and Framers.  Most of the talkers - Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, et al, were older guys, more seasoned in life.  But the guys in the field were, as in most wars, kids.  Young, strong men carry the burdens of war.  Always.

Most people reading this blog are not professional Warriors.  Many have some background in military training.  But even you guys with .mil backgrounds have a widely varied experience level and today many of you are merchants, construction workers, Tradesmen and White Collar professionals.  That is not a knock, just a fact.  I have been more desk jockey than Warrior during the last 10 years than I like.  But, it is what it is.  What's worse, I am now 45.  You guys who are 45, or have been 45, know what I mean when I say that 45 ain't 40, and it ain't even close to 35.  By the same token, I ain't dead yet, either.  ;)

But it is what it is.

See the geared-up SWAT guy in the top picture?  Have you ever trained full-contact against a trained Operator in full kit?  When the point man in the Stack coming over your threshold has armored himself in many of his vulnerables, can you get close enough, fast enough, then strike at the chinks in the armor without getting ventilated by him or his buddies?  Kevlar forearm bracers hurt bare forearms and wrists and help him shrug off your grasps, even with adrenaline pumping in your blood.  They deflect your blades.  They can break your fingers if you have your fist filled with the steel of a 1911 and he deflects hard.

What's the point?  You already know you will die or be taken captive if you face a Stack.  (If you don't know that, please have a serious discussion with yourself in the immediate future and get your head un-fucked right now.)  They control all of the important factors, and they have reinforcements.  The best way to survive a confrontation with a Stack - no be there.  The best you can do is take a few with you.  That isn't necessarily defeat, depending on your view of the world.

Fight as smart as you are able.  Fight with everything you've got.  But make no mistake, even though you may have no interest in a fight, Bad People have an interest in fighting with you, and they will never, ever quit until they force this fight.  They will have you surrender your Liberty completely, or they will have you in prison or dead.

If you take nothing else from what I have written in the last few years, I hope you will accept this as fact, learned through many years of experience: In a fight the fastest, safest way to end it is to kill him, or make him change his mind about fighting in the first place.  You do that by raising the cost of the fight to a level he is unwilling to pay, or even risk.  You raise that threshold by being willing to do Hard Things, first.  There is never any shame in delivering a throat punch or cock punch before he is ready, or at a place he is not expecting it, like at Starbucks.

You have to resign yourself to doing things that you despise even in theory, and you have to be willing to do them first, without mercy, and on a scale sufficient to change their minds.  You will be a different Human Being when you are done.  But will your family live free, or not?  Never forget for a single moment - they will kill you or imprison you, and then all you cherish is at their mercy.

There. Are. No. Rules.

It really is that simple.

There is a North Star to follow for Patriots...

When they drop the Optics...

There are millions of clever, self-interested people who will work daily to push Implosion into the future...

These are two points I have repeated time and again.  The recent floating of the "Trillion dollar coin" idea by "serious economists" reveals that even the most clever folks are running out of moves.

Indeed, as has been illustrated many times by folks like Denninger, .Gov simply cannot stop printing or borrowing and dumping that "money" into the population or the immediate economic contraction would reveal the truth to even the dumbest among us, and implosion would be nearly immediate.  The detonations would be from sea to shining sea and border to border as the digital flow of funds stopped and the paper in your billfold will no longer be accepted in trade for chicken or gasoline or firewood.

Such an Implosion (call it a Reset) will sort itself out.  But as part of any such sorting out, it will be required by Nature that those members of the Herd who do not help the herd, shall be culled.  Nature will see to this culling through many avenues, from man-on-man violence for limited resources to starvation for those who cannot produce, to disease for those who cannot remain healthy enough to strive.

Nature insists upon balance and order, regardless of how we silly bipeds continue to try to re-write the fundamental Rules of Existence.

Harsh, perhaps.  These aren't my Rules, I just live here.

Given what you see and what you know, are you seriously still trying to find a way to win the Heart or Mind of that guy in the next cubicle?  Are you seriously still looking for an argument - a tool of Reason - to win the 2A debate?  Are you seriously still uncertain of who is, and is not, Friend or Foe?

Better to use whatever time remains to find a few people who think like you think and begin to stand back-to-back.

There is a North Star to follow through this coming storm.  Many of us see it, and know it.

Keep your eye on the DoI, the Constitution and BoR and follow that light through the coming darkness, and not only will more of us live, the pain will be shorter and the benefits for our posterity greater.

No matter how dark or grim it may seem, know in your heart and see it in your mind, remind yourself that Men were able to embody those ideals in a framework for themselves.  We can return to that place.  It will not be cheap.  It will not be easy.  It will not be a journey we all survive.

We do not always get to choose what storms will cross our paths in life.

We all choose how we will meet the storms of our life.

When they come for you...

...how many will have been trained by this guy and those like him?

Remember Gabe: The usual 1776 Types with their F*** The Police attitudes (no different than a group of Black Panthers) come out of the woodwork waving their rifles in one hand and the Constitution in the other...

And: When I was on SWAT our view is that "We will always win....even if we have to burn down your entire house by bombing it....we will win". Period.

Constitution in the other. Gabe doesn't care about Right and Wrong. He says so, right here: Notice that I have not even gotten into the "right or wrong" discussion. Why not? Because it is not relevant.

Just remember how many tax dollars this guy and others have - and will - put in their pockets while you wave your rifle in one hand, and Constitution in the other...

Remember that when a member of the Stack lets you bleed out, and eyes your wife or daughter as a trophy.

Remember.  Here's the link from summer.

American by birth...

I am an American, by birth.

It doesn't matter if you don't understand what that means.

I understand what it means.  That's what matters.

I understand that upon my creation in the womb I was endowed by my Creator with certain unalienable Rights.

It doesn't matter how many people do not understand what that means, or how many people challenge my premise.  I know what it means.

If you have to find out what it means, the hard way, it will suck, probably for both of us.

But I promise, it'll suck more to be you.

100% Right! ...well, almost...

Here's the quote: That the AR-15 is the single most protected firearm under the clear intention of the Founding Fathers for citizens to be armed with weapons of military utility is not up for debate or discussion. By function and role, it is the firearm of the American Patriot and militiaman.

Any attempt to strip the American citizen of the AR-15 or similar firearms is an attack on the very fabric of our Republic, an affront to the clear intent of the Founders, an assault on the plain meaning of the Constitution, and an attempted rape of Liberty.

My point is a nit, but I hold a nit worth picking.

The AR-15 is not what the writer claims.  The AR is simply what you have left after the firearms he really means to list are no longer on the market.  The AR is a spiffy slingshot in the world of real fighting weapons, weapons designed for going into harm's way to kill other men.

Let's start with the Browning BAR.  The Thompson.  Move a bit forward to the M-14.  Scooch a bit backward and find the Maxim or even the Gatling.

The 'real' fight for relevant 2A was 1934 and America bent knee.

We are getting all worked up (well, some folks are) about an inexpensive, Tonka version of a real militia weapon (M-4).

Please, Patriots, fight the right fight.  When you put all of your energy into saving your AR-15 (A faster-firing Kentucky Long Rifle - a beautiful weapon, mind you) you continue to surrender the premise.  Yeah, I went there again - the dreaded premise.

A few of you are puffy-faced right now, spooling up to rip me a new one for bashing Stoner's work, and you have missed the point.  80 years after the real coup (NFA), the Enemies of Liberty still have you fussing about 100 year old technology, when you should be manning your Ma Deuce poking through the moonroof of your Subaru.

Please fight the right fight.

I'm tired.  Those of you who get it, please remind the Patriot standing next to you.

It ain't about this rock-chucker or that rock-chucker - it's about rock-chuckers.

Do you understand?

Political Prisoners

Let your brains skip a few steps ahead, please.

Whatever 2A infringements come, come.  Whatever enforcement comes, comes.

Whatever we do, we do.

And what do Patriots do about Americans who go down without dying and end up in custody?

F' 'em?  Let them endure for the political struggle?  Go get 'em?

What about their families?

Think about it.

By the way, if you are waiting for a big neon sign that says "It has started!" I would suggest you finally pay attention to Bill: It started a long time ago.  You're in it.  Right now.  Here.
