80% AR Lowers


An 80% lower is a paperweight.

It is the beginning of a "firearm" as defined by BATFE, but it is a hole or two or a bit of milling short of making it to "Firearm", so - for legal purposes, it is a paperweight.  A novelty.  A meat tenderizer.

If you ever decide to finish the drilling/milling/cutting, you'll have the foundation for a weapon - in this case an AR.  Drop in the lower parts kit, stock, add an upper, insert magazine and go to work.

This is NOT a III Arms product.  Miller is focusing on finished firearms and completely milled lowers (which have the proper BATFE markings and require your FFL to be involved.)  A picture of Miller's III Arms lower is below.

WireCutter has teamed up with a company that is offering 80s.  As Martha would say, it's a good thing.  You should have spares.  You should have options.
