Alan Gottlieb is being given (and taking) credit for being instrumental in the Toomey-Manchin deal.

Gottlieb is a felon who managed to have his 2A restored via ATF years ago.

He has always been seen as an enemy of the Left.  They made sure his Wiki page always pointed out his past convictions.

Yet with this deal, suddenly his Wiki page has been scrubbed of his former convictions.

Am I accusing the man of selling out 2A to return to the good graces of the Establishment?

I'll leave your conclusions to you.

I, for one, see Enemies of Liberty and Patriots in a rather stark black and white.

...and I now count Mr. Gottlieb with those at Cerebus and Freedom Group (who own Remington) who choose to remain in alliance with those who work to oppress Liberty.

Dollar Purchasing Power since 1774

Mr. Ash notes that Stephen Harmston, erstwhile economist at Bannock Consulting, wrote that “across 2,500 years, gold has retained its purchasing power, relative to bread at least” which is seemingly proved when one considers that “It is said that an ounce of gold bought 350 loaves of bread in the time of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, who died in 562 BC” which is roughly what it buys today, a stretch of 2,500 years, while the dollar, on the other hand, has lost 97% of its buying power since 1913, less than 100 years ago, when the detestable Federal Reserve was given its diabolical unholy control of the nation’s banks and money by a corrupt Congress and allowed by a corrupt Supreme Court.

Rightful Liberty is Unobtanium...not so much

Between you and Rightful Liberty stand a multitude of laws made by Man.

Defending those laws stand a multitude of armed Praetorian Guards who answer to the Enemies of Liberty.

If you mean to exist in a state of Rightful Liberty, you will become, by definition, a criminal, an enemy of the state.

If you dare reach for Liberty, if you dare set out to secure Liberty for yourself or the important people in your life, you must embrace the simple fact that you will break many serious laws of Man, and many Agents of the State will take great pride in denying your success...in killing you for the glory of the State

Most Enemies of Liberty would not hesitate to kill a kitten with a sack full of puppies if it increased their power.

You mean nothing to them.  Your death means nothing.  In many ways, your death provides the Enemies of Liberty with an opportunity to frighten others who might have otherwise considered your course.

Only the victor writes the History.

You can talk, bluster, huff and puff all you wish.  You can make any statement you wish about the peril that will befall Agents of Evil should they cross your path.  You can be a legend in your own mind.  Draw your lines of sand as you wish, and find reason after reason why they are not defended.

To secure Liberty you will have to break the most heavily guarded laws of the land.

You will be called a mental defective.  A bigot.  A terrorist.  A traitor.

Most of your Countrymen will call you an enemy.

Until you win.

If you can't embrace the Honor of being labeled a Traitor by Evil men and Useful Idiots, please be honest with yourself and with those who mean to go into Harm's Way to secure Rightful Liberty.  Stop blustering.  Stop issuing verbose and dire consequences that you will not enforce.  Voluntarily move yourself to the Auxiliary.  There is no dishonor in being honest with yourself and admitting that you do not have what it takes to be a man or woman taking point.  I respect you more, in fact, if you admit to yourself you better serve the goals of Restoration in a capacity other than direct confrontation.

A man must know his limitations.

Americans are preparing for war amongst one another.  That is a simple fact.  Many of your neighbors, probably even a majority of your neighbors, will serve the regime for one reason or another, they will identify the Resistance.  They will rat you out.  You can not simply ignore these people.  You can not simply hide your actions from discovery.  Organic intelligence systems are simple reality, and they are nearly impossible to beat for any length of time.  I have direct experience with such systems - they are brutally efficient. 

A very small number of Patriots is needed to do the Hard Things.  But a much larger number of Patriots must be ready to support them in a great many ways.  Food.  Water.  Shelter.  Safe Houses.  Intelligence.  Medical treatment.  Comm networks.  Re-supply.  The ways in which the men of direct action (and women) will need the auxiliary is nearly endless.

Some men will hang traitors from lampposts.  Other men must be able to supply the rope.  Other men must have the address of the traitor to be hung.

I was once hopeful that elections alone could avoid the coming conflict.  I admitted then it was a long shot.  I still maintain that voting will forever remain a vital, essential requirement for moral people to win this fight against the Enemies of Liberty, but it is only one facet that will contribute to victory.

Patriots, a small number, working in the shadows, must do Hard Things, with surgical precision.

If you are one of those Patriots, so be it.

If you are not, please admit it to yourself as soon as possible so your proper place can be determined.

300 modern III Patriots across America, supported by the proper auxiliary, can bring Rightful Liberty back to America.  300 modern III Patriots can excise the worst parasites and ignore Man's laws to apply Nature's laws, for God and Country.

Playtime is over.  The optics have been dismissed by the Enemies of Liberty across the globe.  One only needs to read the news to connect the dots.  Laws passed by Men that violate the letter and spirit of our Founding Ideals are an insult to every American. 

Only when Natural Laws are returned to their proper place, only when Constitutional restraints are again heeded by our politicians, only when the Treason of violating Natural Laws is met with true Justice, may we regain our moral compass as a republic, and our rightful place as the most moral and productive nation on Earth.  We know when men have rendered themselves obnoxious, and built defenses so the system can not be relied upon to set them right.  We know when it is up to us.

There is no place in America for human parasites.

300 modern III Patriots.

The number is symbolic.  300 Modern Patriots working across America in their respective AOs in small teams, or independently, these are the Patriots who will meet the Enemies of Liberty, and these are the Patriots who will turn public opinion to the cause of Liberty.

Bold Patriots.  Brave Patriots.  Men and women who will be known to history as heroes - if Liberty survives.

Is Liberty worth enough to you to be one of the 300?  Is Liberty enough for you to provide support and aid to our modern 300 III Patriots?

If you are well suited to the modern 300 III Patriots, you do not need "Leaders".  You do not need plans drawn up in back rooms.  You do not need permission.  You do not need orders.  There is no need for a written or verbal conspiracy.  There is no need for an elaborate network of agents of chains of command.

We are Americans.  We are freemen.  We do not need lessons in how to be free.

Liberty is encoded in our DNA.  Freedom is in our genes.  Securing our Birthright of Liberty manifests itself from our youngest years with questions of "why:" and declarations of "Fuck you."

We do not need a General Patton issuing orders.

We are citizen soldiers, entrusted by our Founders and our Creator with an innate understanding that permission to be free and at Liberty is within each of our Souls, and not from any other Man.

Modern 300 III Patriots have their standing orders:  In the absence of orders, go find something Evil and kill it.

We do not need anything else.  There will be more than 300 - eventually, after we prove that it can be done, that Evil can be challenged.

You are the men and women that will decide if Liberty lives, or dies.

We know what is Right and Wrong.

We know that Evil Men have corrupted our system of checks and balances, and it is up to us, our good Reason and our innate Restraint to set things Right.

Many of us will gather in the Citadel.  And we will remain in contact with those Patriots who choose to remain across the country.  And we will be at their shoulders when needed.

It is that simple.

Missouri: Real 2A Reform?

I found this at Tenth Amendment Center.  I am not sure how old it is, or the current state of the legislation in Missouri politics.

But if any 10 states would step up and do this, it would break the back of FedGov power on 2A.  Indeed, if any ten states joined on any serious issue, and told FedGov to eat it, we'd have a flood of sanity return to our republic overnight.  How do you make your State level pols more afraid of you than of Washington?

All federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations, whether past, present, or future, which infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and Article I, Section 23 of the Missouri Constitution shall be invalid in this state, shall not be recognized by this state, shall be specifically rejected by this state, and shall be considered null and void and of no effect in this state.

(2) Such federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations include, but are not limited to:
(a) The provisions of the federal Gun Control Act of 1934;
(b) The provisions of the federal Gun Control Act of 1968;
(c) Any tax, levy, fee, or stamp imposed on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition not common to all other goods and services which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(d) Any registering or tracking of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(e) Any registering or tracking of the owners of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition which could have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership of those items by law-abiding citizens;
(f) Any act forbidding the possession, ownership, or use or transfer of any type of firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition by law-abiding citizens; and
(g) Any act ordering the confiscation of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition from law-abiding citizens.

The III is going to establish itself as a recognized political party in Idaho.  We've got the paperwork and once we get settled it will take a bit of legwork, but we'll get it done.  I think the first piece of legislation we introduce will be nearly identical to that above.  We'll go a bit further and attempt to eliminate "Prohibited Persons" who are not currently serving time.

III: 300 Patriots

On April 19th, 1775 roughly 75 American Patriots stood upon the Lexington Green to challenge 700 British Regulars who marched to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock, and to confiscate arms and munitions.

The Patriots were outnumbered essentially by 10:1.

The British marching their way were professional soldiers.

Do not fire unless fired upon.  But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.

We all know that command and the name of the man who spoke it. 

We know his name because that simple command was the embodiment of the American ideals that would help shape our republic and our people.  Leave us alone.  Nothing more, and nothing less.

Don't start none, won't be none.

Most of us in the Liberty Movement still believe in that simple philosophy.

The men on the Green that morning represented just about .003% of the population at the time.

America needed Her Patriots, and men answered Her call despite overwhelming odds.

Lexington showed the world that a small group of determined Patriots could change the future of the world.

I look back to another moment in history to a place many consider to be the birth of Western Culture.  The City-States of Greece were being marched upon by Xerxes I and were met by a much smaller force at Thermopylae, led by King Leonidas of Sparta and 300 Spartan Warriors.

History remembers them as well.

Liberty is being murdered on our watch.  Western Civilization and values, born in ancient Greece, are being murdered on our watch.

Can the III Community bring together a modern 300 Patriots who will dare challenge the forces of Evil that are murdering our birthrights, can the modern III build an army of 300 Patriots who will go into Harm's Way if needed, to deny those who would be our Masters their victory?  Do we have Patriots who will clear Black Panthers from voting stations?  Do we have Patriots who will challenge unconstitutional acts and actors?

I believe it is time for the III to begin assembling a very special unit of 300 Patriots who have what it takes to earn a place in history alongside John Parker and Leonidas I.

This unit of 300 Patriots must be willing to take action when appropriate, in an appropriate manner.  This unit must not have a single keyboard commando in the ranks.  This unit must not have members who will retire from their duty.  Each of these 300 Patriots must believe in Liberty or Death.

300 III Patriots who have the patience, the intellect, the will to put Liberty as their foremost obligation.  300 Patriots who are not afraid to stand tall and be counted, to get in the faces of those who would be Masters.

300 Patriots spread across the republic, prepared to work individually or in small, local teams to ensure Liberty remains alive. 

300 Patriots who mean never to bend knee to Tyrants.

Think about this quietly.  Perhaps discuss it with your husband or wife, or a close ally in your AO.  We can discuss the concept further when we meet on the 19th.  Then we can share our discussions with others who are not able to be there on the 19th.

The Enemies of Liberty are moving hard and without impediment.

I believe that a special group of 300 genuine III Patriots can be our Lexington, our Thermopylae, that special place in time and space where Liberty is secured and Tyranny pushed back.

Think about it.

Tool & Die Makers?

Do we have any professional tool and die makers in the community?

We need a couple of tools to help us make a couple of widgets.  Nothing fancy, and nothing requiring million-dollar presses.

Before we go outside the community, we'd rather find someone who has the skills and shares our ideals.

We'd also like to find someone who knows how to make low-tech, easy-to-use molds for casting in modern plastics (ie a follower for a magazine)

Citadel: The easiest way to re-start America after implosion

Joseph McCoy turned the tiny village (35 homes) of Abilene Kansas into a thriving town based on the cattle industry.

McCoy cut deals for Texas Cowboys to bring their herds to Abilene, where the cattle were put on trains headed to Chicago and points east.  Very quickly Abilene grew with merchants in support of the Cowboys, from saloons to boot makers to hotels, all of the services and products you'd find in any well-rounded town.

And the entire economy was predicated on the cattle industry.

The model was not new.  There were cowtowns, coaltowns, silver and gold towns, et cetera.  Where there is productive business, there will be commerce, wealth and all of the products and services needed to build a genuine community.

America has largely grown away from the industry-town model in recent generations, as our economy has shifted from one that produces and builds widgets, to a service economy.  In an economic reset, an implosion of our service economy, communities that thrive will be those that build and/or provide useful products again - be those products cattle, corn, bread, boots or as the Citadel model - firearms and ammunition.

III Arms is the keystone of the Citadel project.  The first Pioneers will, in some manner, help build III Arms until the revenue generated by the company is sufficient to attract supporting entrepreneurs such as ranchers, farmers, restaurants, barbers, et cetera.  A return to the self-sufficient community is inevitable, and many III Patriots are ahead of the curve and working toward establishing the fundamentals of our community now, before implosion.

Most "great" achievements in American history began with one person, or a few people, with an idea and the mettle to do the hard work needed to make that idea come to life.  True ground-breakers usually suffered ostracization, mockery and worse.  But it is the work and dreams and guts of men like Joe McCoy that built America into the greatest nation on Earth.  And it will be people like him who help America get back on Her feet.

Step One: Get back to basics.

Step Two: Get rid of the parasites.

Step Three: Work hard.

Marc Faber wrote a statement the other day that crystallized our current problems as a nation perfectly: We have one half of the country that works for a living, and one half who vote for a living.

That latter half must join the former, or leave.

The town we III Pioneers are now beginning to build needs productive Americans.  Slackers and parasites will not survive among us.  What do you bring to the table?  What business product or service do you intend to launch to help the Citadel flourish post-implosion?

To those of you who are joining us in our endeavor to build a new town from nothing, based upon our Founding Ideals, the cowtown model and hard work, keep doing what you are doing.  And when the majority of our Countrymen are hungry, without shelter and suffering, our families will be safe, warm, healthy and well-fed.

Now we know North Korea's game...

American politicians blinked today, revealing the true reason North Korea has been posturing so strongly.

During the six-party talks America has refused, time and again, to officially recognize North Korea as a member of the Nuclear Club.  It is a diplomatic snub, and the Asian mind does not handle snubs well.  Face and Ego are savage burdens for most Asian psyches.

And now, America blinked.  Our politicians admitted, publicly, finally, that North Korea is a nuclear power.

You can now expect tensions to wind down, and North Korea will forever walk with more swagger.  She may or may not still fire a missile, just for effect, but I suspect she will not. 

Our politicians were punked by a third-world egomaniac.

Such is the state of our "Leaders".

Would Kim Jong-Un have launched if America did not fold - yes. And I would bet it was a hot nuke on the tip of that missile.  He was done playing games, and our Intel assets became convinced he'd do it.

When a man like Putin decides to push, our Leaders will immediately go supine.

Yes, it is black and white.

You will remember that it was Mister Franklin who retired assassination as the only means to rid ourselves of a politician who "...renders himself obnoxious..." with the process of impeachment.

But when the impeachment process has been corrupted, we are left with few options if we are to remain free and at Liberty.  We are left with the old methods, the proven methods, the methods of casting off our burdens as explained by Mister Jefferson when a Government becomes tyrannical.

This war really is that simple, is it not?

Fidelity or infidelity to the principle of Rightful Liberty.

Gun confiscation in Idaho? Not so much...

The Idaho House has passed a bill that would open LEO and bureaucrats to prison time if they help enforce any new FedGov anti-2A laws.

1) Let's see if it makes it into law.

2) Let's see which state has the rocks to extend their FedGov defiance to '68 GCA and '34 NFA.

**UPDATE** Question about states that have passed the Firearms Freedom Act - those states have passed legislation that declares any firearm or accessory manufactured in said state, stamped as having been produced in said state, and remaining in said state, is exempt from FedGov 2A regulations.

ATF sent letters to all FFLs in those states and warned them they'd be held accountable under FedGov law if they ignored FedGov regs.

Question: Does anyone know of a case in which anyone has tested these laws?  Has anyone in Montana or elsewhere made such a firearm or accessory and refused to register it with ATF?  If so, have they been charged?

Blade work

I was asked to comment on an article at NoNonsenseFighting.com titled "Lies about knife fighting".  I read it, and find a lot in the article with which I can agree.  Some falls into the realm of "Different strokes for different folks."  A few points I disagree with absolutely.  I'll start with the statement with which I disagree most: Item #14 "Where I really hit the roof on this mindset is when I see someone who comes from a empty hand fighting system attempt to "fight" an armed opponent in the same way that he would an unarmed opponent."

My martial skillset is founded upon Aiki, with Vo Bihn Dihn and Brazilian Ju-Jutsu (GJJ specifically) and in my world every attack is handled the same whether the attacker is armed or not.  A straight punch at the head is handled precisely the same as a straight thrust toward the head with a knife or brick: Control the arm by deflecting off the line of attack, close the gap to contact, and execute a technique that crushes the attackers physiology, and thus his ability to continue the attack.

Sometimes you succeed in executing a counter that ends the conflict right away.  Usually, you succeed in avoiding a killing blow while delivering some level of injury, or maybe you simply succeed in taking his balance, opening him to an effective counter.

I have added a few links below to columns I have written on blade work, which will help flesh out my two cents.  But I'll re-cap a bit here.

In my world a blade is usually an offensive weapon.  Whether used in offense or defense, its value lies in helping you kill the enemy faster than is usually possible with empty hands - you can hit something vital and get him to bleed out.  If you get the throat, you can keep him pretty silent as he begins the voyage to the other side.  But most situations in which I have been attacked by a man with a knife, I chose to leave my blade sheathed so I can have both hands empty.  I want to control his knife hand, get close, and then break his physiology in some manner that renders his blade irrelevant.

That said, my favorite defensive strategy regarding a knife fight is to be somewhere else.  If I must to face a guy with a knife who wants to kill me, the best weapon is a Chevy, at full speed.  Next - shoot that SOB. 

One reality is universal: Even if you "win" a fight with blades, you will be cut, and you may well die as a result.  You'd better have a medic close by.

As to type of blades: I have a Cold Steel folder with me at all times.  If I am in a fight and manage to survive his first attack, close the gap and tangle him up, I can deploy my folder with one hand and end it swiftly.  If I know I may be headed to a fight that will require a blade, I want a Cold Steel Tanto or KA-BAR tanto.  I prefer Cold Steel, because it has a pointed pommel that can be used as an effective weapon on a reverse strike. 

I am not a fan of double edged fighting blades, but that is a personal preference.  I do own a Gerber Mk II that I am very fond of, though I consider it a backup.  Double-edged blades are inherently weaker than a single edge with a stiff, thick backbone - a Cold Steel will break a double-edge design with a good block.

It boils down to this: If you are facing an enemy and he has a blade, you will be cut, you will be damaged, but your focus should be the same as in any fight - worry less about living through the fight and make it your highest priority to kill him.  That simple mindset will improve your odds of winning - and "winning" is not always defined as "living".

80% AR Lowers

An 80% lower is a paperweight.

It is the beginning of a "firearm" as defined by BATFE, but it is a hole or two or a bit of milling short of making it to "Firearm", so - for legal purposes, it is a paperweight.  A novelty.  A meat tenderizer.

If you ever decide to finish the drilling/milling/cutting, you'll have the foundation for a weapon - in this case an AR.  Drop in the lower parts kit, stock, add an upper, insert magazine and go to work.

This is NOT a III Arms product.  Miller is focusing on finished firearms and completely milled lowers (which have the proper BATFE markings and require your FFL to be involved.)  A picture of Miller's III Arms lower is below.

WireCutter has teamed up with a company that is offering 80s.  As Martha would say, it's a good thing.  You should have spares.  You should have options.

This is a good option.

Citadel & PatCon News

An ally with boots on the ground sent the modern equivalent of a carrier pigeon - the snow has melted and mud is the replacement.

Time to get started!  Well, septic, power, and more.

I will be at King's Mountain on Friday the 19th at 10am.  I'll be heading out on Saturday by mid-day, chores beckon on Sunday so I have to be back in town.  Closing up the house in DC and wrapping up lingering business tasks before trekking west.

I'll post more details about King's Mountain in coming days, here and at the Congress site.

Still not certain about making it to Brock's PatCon given our schedule of tasks that must be accomplished, but I encourage you all to attend if you are able - here's a link to Brock's details.

We are considering a west coast Congress/PatCon for the late summer, so if you can't make it eastward this spring, we'll meet where it is convenient for Patriots west of the Mississippi.
