We have probably spent well north of a trillion dollars on "Counter/Anti Terrorism" infrastructure in that time.
Boston performs hundreds of thousands of "Stop-and-Frisk" violations of 4A every year, their annual total not far behind NYC.
Massachusetts has some of the most obscene and oppressive 2A violations in the country.
At an event such as the marathon, there were assets from most State LEO agencies, probably a National Guard presence, and all that Fusion Center & Joint Task Force crap, combined with one of the most invasive camera networks in any city in America.
3 dead and 150+ wounded by 2 explosives planted on opposite sides of the street in what should have been the most secure piece of real estate along the marathon route. If it was indeed a single Operator, he'd have probably been carrying 2 backpacks for at least a while - and that did not trigger a Stop & Frisk or any other challenge by all of the security on scene?
Men and women in Government take at least 60% of your earnings every year, by force of arms, and they spend on such things as our current Police State that is a complete failure at protecting the innocent - though we know "protecting the innocent" is a marketing gimmick, not the real purpose of all that security hardware and personnel.
I have no rant to offer. No rousing speech.
This will continue until Americans stop tolerating it.
