The X-Factor

The X-Factor - no, not the silly game show.

I first learned of the concept of the X-Factor in a series of novels written in the '70s and '80s - the genre was called "Men's Adventure".  Yes, it played a significant role in my outlook on life.  No, I won't tell you the title, and no, it wasn't Mack Bolan or Remo flippin' Williams.  ;)

But the X-Factor has been ever-present in the way I live my life - it is the unexpected, the variable you can't control and often can't even conceive.  It's Murphy on steroids.

The last week or so the X-Factor has been all up in the Citadel, III Arms, my personal life, and elsewhere - in a good way.

Have you ever ridden the face of an avalanche?  I haven't, but I think I know what it must feel like, it has been that kind of week.

Cross your fingers, folks.

And remember - every Founder and every single one of you who supported the Citadel and III Arms, you are the hero in this drama.

CQB Mobile Alabama

I have a reason to be in Mobile on the weekend of August 3, and I will consider a CQB Class if there is sufficient interest.  I don't have a pointman in the area yet, so if attending a class in the Mobile Area on or about August 3 appeals to you, let me know.

An exercise

Get a member of your Tribe and something with which to restrain their hands - duct tape will work in a pinch.  Your Tribe member can even be your wife - for some guys this will be an eye-opener.

Square off.

One of you is tasked with restraining the other.  No weapons. 

Use a stopwatch, and check the time when you are finally finished.

Annnnnnnnnd GO!

How'd it work out for you?  Did you get the other person restrained without resorting to bone-crushing punches or kicks?

What if, one day, you need to take down some OathBreaker who has information you need?

You'll want to know how to get him under control quickly, without any of your people getting hurt, and without killing the guy.

What if some OathBreaker decides to restrain you - and you aren't in the mood?

Another exercise: Have 2 strong lads grab your wrists, one on each side.  Let's assume your sidearm is just a few inches away, on your belt.  Can you get to it?  Watch this guy - and yes, I can teach you this in less than an hour.  And yes, it is part of the CQB class.

Note - the guy in the video is running at about 1/8 speed for 2 reasons: 1) So you can see what he is doing and 2) so he doesn't break every joint from wrist to shoulder in the guys trying to hold him. In the real world, you won't care about such niceties.- K

Dropped Optics

I warned immediately after the 2012 election that when "They" begin to drop the optics, to dismiss even the pretense of caring what you think about what "They" are doing, the real fight will have begun.

Do you have enough fingers to count the scandals currently in the headlines that would have seriously threatened Impeachment of any other President in our history?

And what do you see "Them" doing about it?

If you answered: Charging forward, full speed ahead! then you win the prize.  If you think that Eric Holder remained in the Cabinet after the 2012 election to serve as Attorney General, I can't help you.  He remained at his post because, as I told you long, long ago, he would only leave DoJ when he was ready, and he would land at a sweet K Street gig.  Most of these scandals were known in the White House pre-election, and we know it.  The White House would need a powerful Soldier to fall on his sword, when the time came, to provide the President deniability.  When Eric Holder finally resigns, you'd better understand this was a play put together almost a year ago, waiting for the right moment to execute.

In fact, what is really happening is that most of the agencies involved are expanding their roles, not contracting, charging forward and promoting the players within.

I can't be bothered to document every nuance of every unconstitutional crime being imposed upon Americans.  There are too many.  Other people are doing a very good job on that task.  It would be easier to list which agencies are NOT behaving unconstitutionally.  I can't be bothered looking for a Congressman to support in 2014 who will help turn the tide.  That person doesn't exist.  I can't be bothered with which R will have the best chance in 2016 - because while I do think it matters who is in power when SHTF, I don't think we'll make it to 2016 to change the players at the National level.

What I see is a system that is being driven by a majority of Americans, a system supported by even more Americans, that find every Founding Ideal in our DoI, Constitution and BoR repugnant.  They have reached critical mass, that mass where the Mob Rule is in play, and they will bulldoze everyone in the way who tries to use reason as an argument.

These people are on a path that can only end with the economic Implosion of the American economy.  They will not stop themselves, they will not even try to stop.  They think they are the smartest people in the room.  They think they are entitled to be your Masters and guide this Nation and your Lives.  They will not stop until Reality crushes them.

I can't be bothered with anything these days that does not advance the odds of my Tribe for survival when the inevitable happens.  I want a community filled with like-minded Patriots, well-armed and possessed of Common Sense.  I want that community to be defensible.  I want that community to be a source of stability for the surrounding area, and able to feed itself and provide medical care. 

I want that community to live the values put forth by our Founders.

After the Implosion?  After the brain-dead Mob has all-but destroyed itself in its hubris? 

Let's survive and prevail, first.  We can worry about that day when it comes.

Right now, it is time to decide who wants to live among Patriots, and who is willing to do the work.

III 300

The graphic above is being made into a patch as I write this tonight.  It will be made available to only a special selection of III Patriots.

The III is a special breed of American Patriot.  We trace our roots back to the Revolution, where the original III took arms and met the King's Men and refused to yield.  I don't think any of us consider ourselves supermen or better than other Patriots - but we have looked into our own hearts and decided that we will do unpleasant things if required to ensure that Liberty prevails.  There are many Patriotic Americans who have not yet been awakened - the ranks of the NRA and Establishment Rs are filled with such people.  They consider us to be dangerous.  But every day more wake up, and realize that they have more in common with us than with Establishment Republicans who play the political game between the 40 yard lines.

Even among the III there are different types of people who will play differing positions.  Some are best suited for the Auxiliary.  Some are best suited to be the Grey Man who collects intel and makes certain it gets into the hands of the proper people.  Some brilliant III Patriots are modern Pamphleteers, working tirelessly to help wake up as many allies as possible, receiving little more than abuse and derision for their efforts.  Some are suited for the III Congress, that arm of the III that seeks to follow the examples offered in our history of Colonial Congresses.  Some III Patriots consider themselves fighters, and have drawn their lines in the sand.  Many draw that line at their front door.

Then we have what I am calling the III 300.

III Patriots who do not intend to be passive and allow the Enemies of Liberty to dictate the rules and terms of engagement.  III Patriots who will volunteer to accept a mandate.  III Patriots who will hazard into Harm's Way when it is necessary.  III Patriots who are not afraid to move to contact.  III Patriots who will do more than talk - Patriots who will seek out training in the skills offered by men like Mosby and Max Velocity, J.C. Dodge at Mason Dixon Tactical, SF Medic and others who teach skillsets for combat.  III 300 Patriots will seek local III Patriots, Militia members and others, and help train them in essential skills while building morale and cohesion for the Liberty Movement.

III 300 Patriots will voluntarily move to take Point.  They will be the Ambassadors of the III to the Militias across the country, to the unawakened and the people who are wakening.  III 300 Patriots will be at events in their AO to show the world that the spirit of the original III remains alive in the hearts of Americans. 

We have no desire to fight. 

We also have no intention of continuing to tolerate infringements upon our Rightful Liberty.

Are you suited to be part of the III 300?  Are you willing to do the work necessary to make yourself a Leader of Men when the time comes?  Are you willing to learn from men who offer training in our community, so you may save lives, reduce suffering, and lead the way for others toward the Restoration of Liberty?  Will you be a special III Patriot who helps to build, rather than only find fault in others?

Think about it for a while.

Yes, the III is a collection of individuals.

And this collection of individuals must have some who are willing to take point, or we will remain impotent.

Citadel: SitRep

We've been quiet regarding the Citadel, as you all know, by design.  Founders and Applicants have received updates, and in the near future we will be breaking our media blackout.  When Matt Drudge linked us we went nuclear.  We've had more than one hundred media outlets worldwide request interviews, and dozens of documentary/series production companies trying to work a deal for the rights to tell our story.

We promised one patriotic media giant that when we were ready to break our media silence, when we had tangibles to show the world, we'd give them first opportunity to sit with us.  That is in the works now.  Obviously I will not reveal any more, because you have all seen what opponents to this project do when they get a chance.  I am proud to say that several members of the Steering Committee are involved, and as soon as the President of the Steering Committee is able to make an announcement, he will give everyone the details.

The Citadel Project is bigger than all of us.  It is intended to be multi-generational.  It is a shining example of Patriots working together to build a better future.  It is a constructive project, not destructive.

CQB Training: Illinois Area

Sunday, June 23rd in the Rockford area of Illinois I'll be teaching a CQB class to a Founder and several of his Tribe.  He is opening a few class slots  - so if you are a Founder, or a Patriot we know from these blogs, and you want to be part of a day-long class learning how to stay alive in close combat, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the class organizer.

Class location is about 60-90 minutes west of Chicago, and I know we have a LOT of readers within driving distance of this class.

We stand strongest together

I love my country.  Not as it stands today, but the ideal of the America envisioned by Jefferson, Franklin, and other such men.

I know some of you refuse to salute the stars & stripes, and I understand your reasoning.  But I will salute , I will fight for it, I will kill for it if I must, I will die for it if I must - not because of what perverted people have made it, but for the Founding Ideals that led our Founders to fight and kill to secure Liberty.  I have what I have today because other men in our history were willing to do the same.

Our flag represents Liberty, to me.  So does the Gadsden flag and others.

Most people reading this blog consider themselves III.

You know I usually post and let you comment if you feel moved to do so, and I only weigh in once in a while.

We are a nation of independent men and women - real Americans, anyway.  We pride ourselves on standing on our own, on protecting the ground beneath our feet.  And when a dozen such Patriots stand together, or a hundred, or a thousand, I dare say no equal number of men from any other Tribe has a chance against us.  Our strength is our independence, our individualism - when we band together to work for the same goal.

There was a tectonic shift in our III community today.  It is too soon to reveal it just yet, it needs to mature a bit, and it needs to become solid and real.  But I promise you, the III may be on a course to change American politics and ensure Liberty for our posterity.

So, in this post I will ask you a question and ask you to offer an answer: What does III mean to you, to you as a man or woman, an American, a Patriot?

A real Constitutionalist Sheriff?

A Militia ally forwarded this to me.  At the moment we are all treating it with a bit of caution.

If it is legit, it is a good thing.  Would you follow a LEO who abjectly refuses to follow unconstitutional laws?  I would - if he turns out to be sincere.  And at the moment we simply don't know if he is that sincere.

I know this - if he is sincere and he picks up the march on DC where Kokesh left off, I am sad to say I am out of position.  This would be the ideal time to march with our open holsters and our shirts that declare "This is the last time we come unarmed."

But, it is what it is and I don't have time to lend the proper support if it is legit.

I do not like the hubris of telling Americans that only law enforcement should carry armed - but he may be erring on the side of caution, rather than assuming his status is above we rabble.  We shall see.

Until then, keep an eye on it, and keep an open mind.

I hold out hope that there are at least a few principled LEO.

I hope - but I won't hold my breath.

Patriot: Jim Miller

And there are silly people saying Miller plays in the minor leagues.

A woman is walking around in Washington DC - a good woman, no less - carrying one of Miller's kidneys.  I won't bother explaining how that selfless act not only kept a good woman alive, but kept the 2A fight going.

I won't mention that without Jim Miller III Arms, and the future of the Citadel, would be on a slow track to nowhere.  I won't mention the learning curve the man subjected himself to in order to build III Arms and to arm Patriots for the upcoming fight for Liberty.

No, I won't toot his horn.

He doesn't need me to do it.  God knows what Jim Miller is all about, and I am just proud to know him in this lifetime.

CQB Training Calendar

Folks, sorry if it seems I am posting a lot regarding CQB training.  I am.  Partly because this is now how I will feed my wife and take care of my personal bills, but also because there is a significant number of Patriots who read this blog who are deadly serious about learning to defend themselves.

When I began learning my martial skills I never had any real intention of teaching.  The truth is I learned my first martial skills because I was getting my ass beaten because I run my mouth.  Soon after, however, it became a way of life and I was lucky enough to meet some very brilliant Warriors who helped put me on a beneficial path.

So, here we are.  I am in the very fortunate position to not only do something I love (CQB), I get to help share those skills with people who represent the future of Liberty in this country I love.  I sincerely thank each and every one of you who has signed up for class, and to those who have taken point and organized the classes.  I am in your debt.

Here is the tentative schedule that has shaped up over the last week or so:

June 25,26,27 in the Rockford Illinois area. (Zip me an email if you want to attend this class and I will forward your details to the organizer - he is vetting applicants.  Space is limited.)

In this loop we will be making 2 non-CQB stops - including the Citadel for advancement of the project, and (likely) Texas for Citadel business. 

That means if you are in the southern portion of the country I am available to set a few training dates through August, from late July through the end of the month - including down in Florida.  Most folks shoot for weekends, but I am flexible and can train any day of the week.  So if you are in Texas, Arizona, or otherwise across the southern US, let me know know if a class is possible.  I can help broadcast the dates/location, or you can keep it simply among your Tribe.

Fact: You will learn in my course how to stop any man from putting his hands on you, and whether you kill him or not will be your choice - not his.

No, finally it is Rush who dares speak the words.  It is now mainstream.

Embrace it.  Get ready.  Because even if you just want to be left alone, others have no intention of letting you sit it out.

CQB is, by definition, an 'Oh Shit' Skillset

Many bad people will try to put their hands on you - soon.  That's how they begin to arrest you.  That's how they begin to rape you.  That's how they begin to kill you.

 

In most real-world violent encounters, unless you are kitted-up and already on patrol, you will have to fight to your weapon.

Weapon of choice should be a Chevrolet at high speed, hitting your enemy in his back, while you accelerate.

Never ignore your rifle skills, your handgun skills, your SUT skills.  CQB is simply one more skillset you need if you plan to survive, prevail, and protect your loved ones.  It is indispensable - but do not think for a single moment I am telling you to forget rifle skills with Mosby or others - you need it all.

Your rifle should always be ready for deployment.  Your sidearm should always be ready to go.  Your blades should always be within reach and razor sharp.  And your body must always be prepared

Ask any senior NCO - in a combat scenario if you need to draw your pistol you already f'd up and left your rifle out of reach, or your position is being overrun and you don't have time to reload your rifle.

Hardcore vets who have seen more shit than they'd like to remember will tell you the truth - no matter how well you plan and prepare, there will come a moment when your rifle and pistol run dry and you don't have time to reload, or you are out of position, or the enemy simply overwhelms your position with numbers - and you go to blades or empty hands.

In the everyday world, CQB will often be the first recourse - when you are in Wal-Mart or walking down the street, and you suddenly find yourself in a confrontation, someone is usually in your face and in your personal space before your brain registers that you need a pistol in your hand.  Thus, you usually must fight to your weapon.

That's when CQB comes into play.

When you need CQB (hopefully never) you'd better have the skills, or you are dead.  If you can't get two 200 pound men off your wrists, you can't pull your sidearm.  If you can't handle that baseball bat being swung at your head, you won't have a chance to clear leather.  If you can't handle that linebacker-sized Crip who wraps you up into a good-old-fashioned tackle to the street, good luck pulling that sweet Glock from the small of your back.

When you need CQB it is almost always because your preferred methods of killing the enemy are not available to you at the moment.

So, what will you learn in the III CQB course?  I have been asked by several people I respect tremendously to give a thumbnail sketch of what you can expect if you take my CQB class.  Fair enough.  But please understand that I am not going to go into too much detail, for the same reason I am not building a DVD/YouTube video - I do not want potential adversaries to know what skills you have in your quiver.

1) Whether you have never thrown a punch in anger or you are an accomplished MMA fighter, you will walk away from this class with new skills.

2)This course is one of craft and technique.  Whether you are a man or woman, fit or overweight, even handicapped, you will be able to execute this program.

3) This is NOT a "martial arts" class with exotic flying leaps or convoluted defensive steps, and you don't need to know how to hammer a nail into a tree with your forehead.

4) You will learn a few basics such as: How to fall without spraining your wrist or cracking your skull.  You'll learn how to avoid punches, kicks and weapons.  You'll learn the absolutely vital aspect of range. 

5) You will learn how to avoid having the enemy break your bones, and you will learn to break his.

6) You will learn to choke him out, tie his arms into pretzel shapes, or kill him - your choice.

7) You will learn how to avoid his preliminary attack and then break contact (That means run like hell to get away from the big, mean bastard)

8) You will learn how to cover the back of your Team members.  CQB fighting in a group is NOT a disorganized and ugly bit of chaos - you will learn to fight effectively as a group.

9) You will learn to fight to your weapons - blades, sidearms, longarms, and how to incorporate them at point blank range in the middle of your CQB action.

10) At the end of this course you will be able to defeat any man or woman who dares put hands on you.

There is more.  Detailing it here would be imprudent.  All students will run through competency drills with me to ensure you have mastered the techniques.  If you graduate the class, you will earn an official patch for your uniform.  More importantly, you will earn the knowledge that you are ready to defend your life, and the lives of those near you, if you must.
