Egypt: Training Exercise for Patriots

The AP picture above shows what happens when a LEO vehicle meets a mob of motivated and angry people - they roll the beast over the edge, with all hands aboard.  The vehicle fell about 50 feet, and reports are that 5 aboard died.  Then the crowd started throwing rocks at the survivors, while taking rifle fire.

The difference here, of course, would be the addition of a few guys standing off and testing the manufacturers claims about the ability of the vehicle to withstand .50 BMG peppering it...while the crowd rolls it over the bridge.

Watch and take notes, folks.  It doesn't matter which side you want to win.  The value is in watching the fights and learning from them.

Consider

The nine folks in this building are permitted to settle what is and is not "Constitutional" for 300+ million Americans.

The history of precedents in America is already so deep and convoluted, it takes a decade for a "Lawyer" to work through school and internships, et cetera.

And at any moment, with a single replacement on the Supreme Court, something like Heller can be overturned.  What was a "Constitutional Right" last Tuesday can be found illegal with the replacement of a single Judge.  That is NOT what the Framers had in mind.

What do you think it will look like when your kids come of age, or your grandkids...

Is the Founders' Intent gone forever?

The history of Liberty can be viewed as a series of expansions and contractions, like bubbles that grow up in various small parts of the world, only to pop.

Just start with the Greeks, who fell and gave rise to the Romans, who fell only to see Western Europe seek the concept, which can be seen in the Magna Carta and the Rights of Englishmen.  Enlightenment gave way to the American and French Revolutions.  This is a story that spans thousands of years.  Each cycle is more intense, and larger, than the previous.

Liberty did not get the run it deserved in America, knee-capped by the Federalists from Day One.  By the time Lincoln arrived, it was doomed, and he killed a lot of men to make it stick.  Wilson slit Her throat, and today she bleeds out.

Today some of us see the same tyranny circling us like a shark that has been seen by so many other cultures through time.  Can we turn the attack and give the Founders' Intent a real chance?  I know that is my goal.  I think it can be done.  I am also a realist and know our odds of success are slim.  For Liberty to win, the masses of FSA and Marxists will have to be encouraged to go to work or leave our system.  I also believe it is the most noble fight of my lifetime, so I will not relent.

Alan puts forth a very strong argument that the Revolution would not have happened but for the work of three men. They were not only the spark in the powder keg, they bought the keg and filled it with powder.  Do we have the intellectual bank our Founders had?  Do we have the mettle to risk being hanged?  Do we have enough people who will stand up when the time comes? 

What will the next round in the Liberty cycle look like?  America II (Founders' Intent)?  Snuffed from existence for a few hundred years until a new bubble begins to form somewhere on Earth - India, maybe?  I do believe if America falls, the Russians will be the ruling power for at least several generations.  On thing is certain - the Human Experience is one of extremes.  There won't be much of a middle ground. 

This is rhetorical, something to consider in the deep of night...

22lr & Seeds

How many of you were surprised when, for the first time in my lifetime, at least, the ever-present .22lr disappeared from shelves, only to return months later in limited quantity and with prices that would choke a horse?

This is a simple post.  Either you get it, or not.  Darwin is at work, right now.  Can you feel him stalking you?

What will happen when grocery stores go bare and dark, bread lines become sites of mass murder, and Home Depot doesn't have a single seed in the building...

I don't brush any group with a brush so broad as to leave no room for the individuals who may stand apart from that group when things get sporty.  By the same token, any individual presenting from certain groups must be vetted completely.  Marxists/FSA: All bad, either by willful choices or abject stupidity - they gotta go.  LEO: All bad until an individual proves himself to be genuinely different from the pack.  .Mil, I consider generally good, though I am not stupid.  Many of the troopers serving believe what they are doing by following orders is right and proper.  (Many of you know this phenomena - many of you joined young only to waken later.  Anyone younger than 35 gets a bit more consideration.)

You don't need to bring me to town for CQB, I know Mosby teaches it as well and I bet the others do also.  I've read on Mosby's site a bit about his CQB skillset, and it is a good one.  If you already have him in town, add another day and get some up close and personal instruction along with rifle and sidearm.  Same with the other guys.  Get what you can get now.

Voter ID: I'm a Sad Panda

Folks, please take a moment and consider your position on Voter ID laws.

I don't see how anyone can advocate Constitutional government and then square that position with a law that requires state-issued identification.  And don't give me that "You have to show ID to buy a firearm or a beer" crap - those ID requirements are just as foul as voter ID.

Show me your papers!

Find another way, folks.  They do it in third-world countries all the time with a simple ink.

And for the record, I do NOT believe in all this "democracy" crap, either.  Not every FSA piece of garbage should get to pull the level in the voting booth.  But "who" should be permitted to vote is a discussion for another day, we have to get our basics back in line before we start focusing on the peripheral issues.

CQB: Home Invasion

I have mentioned that what I hear most often when teaching CQB are concerns about home invasion.

Susan Duclos has a video of a home invasion, executed by a single attacker.  The attack was caught on a nanny cam.  As you watch it I want you to consider the brutality, and I want you to consider how you can prevent the same thing from happening in your home.  If you know how you would prevent this, does your wife follow the same precautions?  Your children?  This is a protocol the entire family needs to understand and implement.  Consider if your kid was playing in the front yard, and this animal rings your doorbell, with your child in his arms.  Does that Cluster Foxtrot your protocol?

There is no single answer, of course.  But home invasions are on the rise.  Flash mobs are on the rise.  It won't be long before the two activities merge.  Consider a dozen animals surrounding your home in stealth, then coming through doors and windows at the same time.  What's your plan?  How fast can you, your spouse and kids put weapons in hand?  How long does it take for all members of the household to muster in your designated safe place?  You do have a designated muster point, yes? 

You need to work this one out.  You need to be ready to have the enemy suddenly in your space.  You need to consider animals running around your house as your children scream and run, denying you the opportunity to sling lead, lest you hit one of them.  And remember, the moment you surrender to the animals in that chaos, you will never get the opportunity to stop them again.  You'll have the opening moments of the attack to repel them, and that's it...

Restoration: How to get from here to there...

I came across Outpost of Freedom yesterday, and particularly his plan for Restoration.  I've added the blog to my links below, and I'll include a link to the Restoration PDF at the end of this post.

I commend the Restoration piece to you all for consideration. 

The author took the time to do some very important work.  Not only has he laid out a plan to actually achieve Restoration, he has also taken the time to document every action he proposes with the historical precedents of the Revolution.  For instance, when he calls for X act, he shows you in history where our Founders took the same action.

I have held that our Founders left us a blueprint and the author of this piece did the hard work of illustrating that blueprint.  Of course there are nits that can be picked in the plan, but remember, none of us will ever agree about every detail of any plan.  What is important is that the author took the time to do the work, and he employed a LOT of common sense as he put the plan together.

Read it when you have the chance to sit for a while.  Soak it in and consider where it may be tweaked, and how.  I suggest a discussion on the paper here online, and I will also bring it up at our PatCom.  I may have just found my topic for Brock's event.

One technique.  Useful against many attacks.  Brutal if you are on the receiving end.

If you are training your Tribe I can recommend the current MACP course as taught in the Army.  You can find PDF versions of Field Manual 3-25.150 online, and you should get it for your team.  Learning the techniques in the manual without instruction will be almost impossible, but if you have seen the techniques it will serve as a refresher.  The MACP is not perfect.  There are many techniques I would drop, and several I would add.  There is a lot of groundfighting being taught that can never be executed by a trooper in full kit.  Hell, a lot of what is being taught becomes almost impossible simply wearing combat boots.  But as a baseline program, it is pretty darned solid.

Train, folks.  Hit and get hit now.  Learn to throw and fall, now.  Begin to blend your defensive sidearm and bladework into your CQB program.  I know many people believe the coming Ruckus will be fought at rifle distances, and in some cases that will probably be true.  I dare say that most conflicts will be much, much closer.  They will come upon you suddenly.  You will be the defender at least as often as you will be the attacker.

Rifle, sidearm, blades, empty hands - it is all one system.

CQB & Citadel PatCom SitRep

I have to admit that deciding to teach CQB as a means of immersing ourselves into the III without the distractions of non-related businesses has already proved to be one of my better choices in life.  The ability to stay focused on nothing but III projects and III activities has been wonderful for HK and me.  Meeting Patriots and sharing a small bit of my martial experience is one of the most rewarding "jobs" I have ever accepted.  To everyone who has attended, and who plans to attend a CQB course, thank you.  You have helped HK and me stay focused on the III, and you have given us the gift of connecting with real Patriots.

I'll list our CQB schedule below.  As you can see, we begin a long road trip next week.  Two classes below are "tentative", meaning we have several Patriots in the AO who want the class, but we haven't reached our minimum 8 participants yet.  (S.E. Wisconsin and Upper Michigan)  If you are in those AOs and want to take a class, zip me an email and I'll put you in touch with the point man in each area.

Citadel PatCom:  The basics of the Idaho PatCom remain on the right sidebar.  A fellow Patriot who owns a chunk of land just a parcel over from the Citadel Beachhead has graciously offered his site for overflow campers and trailers, if needed.  His parcels are raw land, just as is the Beachhead.  Remember folks, bring what you want and need to take care of yourselves. 

I won't be bringing any IIIGear to sell or raffle.  HK still needs to find out the rules for raffling a III Arms Minuteman 15 from Miller, we'll get that online once we have the details.  The drawing can happen at the PatCom (though you won't have to be attending to win.)

Itinerary: I think a loose format is best for this meet-up.  Anyone who wants to address the group will simply have to speak up - you'll find a well-mannered and attentive audience.  If anyone wants to suggest a specific activity or topic of discussion, feel free to post it.  Of course we'll be hosting a CQB class on Saturday and we'll do a GroundFighting class on Sunday.  You can register for the classes on the right sidebar.

The Office of Sheriff

You know my position: No matter how bad it gets, politics can't be ignored, neglected or dismissed.

Our Founders understood the importance of politics.  It was a political act to write and sign our Declaration, an act taken by politicians, and enforced by the III Percent in the field.

The same formula will work this time. 

After the first Revolution the Federalists became terrified that Patriots might come hunting for them and kill them, for they were already violating the spirit of the Constitution.  They watched the French Revolution and were afraid - with good reason - that the same could happen here.

This time the revolutionaries are those seeking to crush the Constitution, once and for all.  Constitutionalists today are counter-revolutionaries, seeking to protect and defend the Original Intent of the Constitution and those fellow Americans who seek to respect it in name and deed.

I contend our original III made a mistake when they did not evict every last Loyalist from the continent.  Our original III were too tolerant.  The troops of Lincoln made the same strategic blunder (thankfully) by leaving so many Southerners alive and in their homes, with festering hatred that still exists many generations later.

This time I suspect the disgust for the parasites among us is so high that Americans who choose to enter the Ruckus in defense of Natural Law, Rightful Liberty and our Founding Principles and documents will not stop when the parasites and their forces throw up their hands in defeat.  There will not be a tolerant peace.  There will be trials, and many of those trials may be held Roy Bean style.  Patriots will hunt for those who sought to enslave them, and make them pay for their crimes.  This time, with History serving as a guide, the victor, whoever may win, will not stop until their enemies are dead or physically forced off the continent.  I promise you the Marxists will not stop until all traces of "Patriots" are eradicated, snuffed from existence, History and even memory.  

This time, it is for all the marbles, and one side or the other will win a total victory that includes the absolute destruction of the enemy philosophy.

The Reign of Terror will look like a Sunday brunch, regardless of which side prevails.

Responsible Patriots will not neglect the political realm.  A very large percentage of those who will support Patriots, as well as a very large percentage of those who are ambivalent, folks who do not fight, recognize the Constitution as the governing authority (even if they have no idea what it says or means), so using the Constitution as a rally point is simply common sense. 

Equally, the vast majority of Americans recognize the office of Sheriff as a legitimate office with a Constitutional role in our society.  Patriots should use that recognition strategically.  If you have a good Sheriff, support him (or her).  Be vocal.  Throw some money into his campaign fund and make sure he knows who you are, and what you expect.  Align yourself with him and his office, which will work to your benefit for legitimacy.  If you have a bad Sheriff, support a good candidate.  If there is no good candidate, YOU run for the seat.  If you are a III Patriot and you intend to respect the Constitution, who would be a better person wielding Constitutional power?

If the Ruckus starts and you have a bad Sheriff, make him abandon his office and clear the way for a good Sheriff.  If the Ruckus starts and there is suddenly a vacuum in the Sheriff's Office, step in yourself or support someone you trust.  Consider buying a simple "Sheriff" badge and keeping it in your gear - if the time comes when legitimate authority and recognition of that authority is needed, have the means to hand the elected Sheriff a badge to pin on his shirt.

The election may be a well-disciplined affair, or it may be you standing on a soapbox at the County Green and counting hands in the crowd.  But do not dismiss the value of having a Sheriff on your side.  Do not dismiss his genuine Constitutional role.  Do not dismiss the symbols and trappings of the office, which conveys legitimacy to the people who do not fight.

Who is your Sheriff right now?  Is he a serious person when it comes to respecting the Natural Rights of the Citizens in his AO?  Does he at least attempt to shunt the unconstitutional mandates coming from the State and FedGov?  Or is he simply another politician, milking the system and abusing his office?

Consider: If you were Sheriff, or one of your Tribe who you trust were Sheriff, how many goodies could you get from Uncle Sugar that will help your AO in the future?

Any III Patriot reading this post - if you run, I will help support you.  I will work beneath the radar to help any III Patriot who puts himself out there in such a manner.  For those of you who may need the income, being Sheriff is NOT an FSA office.  You can accept that paycheck proudly.  You can stand tall between Enemies of Liberty and your Countrymen.  If you don't need the money, consider running anyway - because America needs Her Patriots in serious, legitimate positions.
