I have a serious question for you gunnies.

I have always been a bit of a firearms snob - and I always made very good money (and I was single), so when I wanted a new firearm, I went and bought it.

New.

I have always thought of buying used firearms like buying a used Ferrari - not a smart move.

As the snob I am I have never owned a used firearm.  For the record, I do not own any now, I do not own any new ones now, and Mrs. Kerodin doesn't own any in our decision to keep my Federal Masters satisfied that I am toothless and fangless without boomsticks.  OK - we'll let them have that one.

But, Mrs. Kerodin has come under personal threats recently, in no small part to our Alabama slug who will have to answer for that.  But that's another issue.  The point is, in Idaho after sitting with the Attorney General and our Sheriff, we intend to find out where the limits are drawn, and Mrs. Kerodin will begin to carry against misogynistic fucks like Razor in the Benewah.

My question to you gunnies: Would you have any hesitation - at all - to guide your wife (or daughter - someone who is precious to you beyond life itself) to purchase a well-maintained used firearm.  All of this assumes that is a firearm that fits her well, a cartridge she can handle accurately in rapid-fire, mechanically sound, and not abused by the previous owner.  Of course it would be check by at least 2 gunsmiths as well as a couple guys I trust in such matters.

Price is not really an issue - a good used Browning is not much different from a new Browning, but as you know some models are better than others, such as one built in Belgium - yadda-yadda...

Are there some handguns that you NEVER buy used?  Are there some that are ok used if checked properly?  I admit, I know very little of the used handgun market.

We have many Warriors and Patriots in our community.  We have many ideas about how SHTF will unfold, and when. We have ideas about how to handle SHTF, depending on the actual events on the ground.  What may be DefCon One in Detroit or Los Angeles may Be DefCon Five in Orlando. 

 

We must all be fluid.  We must all by dynamic.  We must all be ready for what we expect, and for events that we never considered.

 

Cut through it all, take what makes sense to you, disregard the rest.  But I counsel all of you to read our community blogs and relevant MS to keep our finger on the pulse. 

 

But more importantly I counsel that you get away from your keyboard and go meet people who claim to be Patriots.  As we have discussed, Mao considered himself a Patriot, so never take another man's word for it - do your own due diligence.  Once you have the beginning of a Team, start building Team skills.  Build protocols.  Train together so you know what to expect if the world suddenly goes to s*it, so if your Team is separated by a city block, you have an idea who will be doing what.

 

Duty with Honor is on my blogroll.  It should be on your daily read list.

 

Folks, gear is important.  Training is important.

 

But if I had 3 or 4 guys who knew each other, had never fired a handgun, never stalked a bear, never worn a ghillie, and I was in trouble, I'd like 3 or 4 guys who have Glocks and friendship to be my primary rescue team.  Every trip of the train.

III Arms Company: Justice for all

Many of you recognize the III above as the Trademark for III Arms Company.  Many of you also know that Mike Vanderboegh, in an effort to destroy III Arms, President Jim Miller, and the nearly 50 III Patriots who helped make the company a reality, convinced Randy Booth of Red Dot Arms to use the III Arms Trademark on Red Dot firearms.

This is a legal battle, and it is not over.

Mike's attempt to ruin III Arms, yet again, blew up in his face spectacularly in the last week. Holly has quite the legal remedy headed his way for tortious interference.  Yeah, he's a sick old man, but that doesn't give him license to try to steal from people who actually work for a living.

Randy Booth, owner of Red Dot Arms, and the FFL directly responsible for knowingly engaging in Trademark Infringement (which is illegal), profiting from it at the expense of III Arms Founders & customers, damaging the established goodwill of III Arms Company both nationally and within the Patriot Community, very quietly took all products using the trademarked III Arms logo off his website in the middle of the night. 

No, Randy, not good enough.  Holly and III Arms are still coming for you.  On July 25, 2013, you lied to Holly in email. You clearly asserted that you stopped using the Mark. She'll be happy to forward that email to your legal counsel.  Bad faith business practices have legal consequences and you will pay dearly.  Holly really isn't fond of liars.  As Holly said just moments ago "...the appearance of compliance is not the same as actual compliance; it is our legal obligation to police and protect the Mark, therefore, Red Dot Arms must provide proof of compliance and be held liable for all injury based on mis-use of the III Arms Mark..."

Some of you may wonder why the Kerodins find the courts a suitable battle space.  It is a civilized forum for the remedy of certain wrongs. 

So, court it is.  People think I am anti-government and anti-courts.  No.  I am anti-BIG government, anti-meddlesome government, and anti-ambulance chasing.  I'm all for legitimate conflict resolution using courts when necessary. 

So, as an update on the latest kerfuffle that started when MBV looped poor Randy Booth of Red Dot Arms into breaking the law to further his personal vendetta against me - he loses.  Again.

You may wonder why I go so hard when people mess with III Arms, especially since I am not a member, earn no income from it, or am in any manner legally part of the company.  It is simple: Nearly 50 III Patriots entrusted me with the task of getting this going.  That is a lot of trust.  For those of you who understand Japanese feudal concept of on, or obligation, you understand.  I owe these people my absolute protection in any manner I am able, from every threat.  I won't ever neglect that obligation.

The real III

The recent III kerfluffle is an inside-baseball event.  I can prove this simply - how many bloggers on your blogroll bothered to cover it?  Heh - non-event.  Insignificant.

That is not to say the III Percent and III Patriots are insignificant, you and I know we are the tip of the spear in the Liberty Movement.  We're the folks on point who will get .Gov attention first.  It was a III Patriot who was responsible for returning Barrycades "...to sender..." But for III Patriots, in particular THAT III Patriot, Sunday the 13th of October would have been just another day.

The kerfluffle, instigated as always from another part of the web, is proof that the III Percent has slipped his grasp.  He has become irrelevant.  He is, at best, an asterisk in the fight for Liberty.  The quality of those few who still comment anonymously and abusively at his website prove that he has lost any mandate of relevancy he once possessed.  That is not my judgment.  That is the collective judgment from the hundreds of people who have walked away from him, the dozens and dozens who commented recently at WRSA, at my site and elsewhere.

Further evidence that he has lost his mandate and that people are dismissive of his perspective, is that he perpetually lashes out at people like CA at WRSA, Jim Miller, JC Dodge, Bill Ford, and the list goes on.  That is not what Leaders do.

Instead of getting out and leading men, from the front and by example, he simply tries to tear them down from a keyboard.  That is not what Leaders do.  That is not how real men behave.

Whatever the III was, or was supposed to be, it is now something more.  More relevant.  More significant.  More tangible.  And much, much larger in ranks.

I have had people describe me as a III Leader - friends and foes.  I know friends mean it as a compliment, my MSM foes mean it to put a bulls-eye on my back.  But I must remind everyone that the III is a bunch of Patriots who will pick up rifles if the republic ever needs us, and we will go forth into Harm's Way.  We are not SF Troops.  We are not SEALS.  We are not US Marines.  We are Citizen Soldiers, emphasis on Citizen.

"Leaders" speak of ranks, which most of you are familiar with from the military.  I say this with all sincerity and humility, and I have said it many times before - I am just a guy.  I am walking ---> this way.  You are welcome to walk with me if you choose.  Now I'll let you in on a secret.  When I look for leadership - I look to WRSA.  I often swing for the throat out for reflex.  CA holds the moral center of the III.

I will continue to do what I have been doing, which is to help build tangible assets for the Liberty Movement.  The Citadel is our biggest achievement to date, and it encompasses vast numbers of people, not just me. III Arms is another such tangible asset for the III community, a tangible and practical asset for III Patriots.  The people running III Arms have done an outstanding job.  Holly and I have personally met and trained hundreds of real III Patriots.  We've done more as a group, and I will continue to take point on more projects.

But I am just a guy, folks.  I welcome you at my shoulder if you care to walk the same direction I am walking.

If I ever choose to throw a brick through a window, I'll throw the first one.  If I ever choose to attend a 2A "Protest", you will NOT find a silly-straw snaked through the chamber of my weapon.  I will protect those of you who choose to stand at my side as best as I am able.  You fuck with Miller, you fuck with me.  You fuck with Miss Violet, you'd better hope someone pulls me off before I kill the idiot in her grill.  You come at CA, I will be on your flank, ready to hit you in the back with my Chevy.

Fighting 101 leads to Victory 101

This post isn't about MBV, though he is mentioned for it is important to make the larger point.

Mike dropped several posts, all designed to get a rise out of me.  It is a well-established pattern, one we have identified long ago.  It usually flares up right about the time we (The Patriots around me) are making headway on some important front.  In this most recent iteration, our advances were relatively benign: the noose ruffled feathers and illustrated an ideological divide, we were also heavily advertising Bracken, and a few other things.  So Mikey began.  I ignored until he accused me of being able to fire blindly into the bedroom of his child.  Then I unleashed Hell.  I think to his surprise, others piled on.  When he dragged CA from WRSA into it, he was buried.

The point - we started swinging and we did not stop until he crawled away beaten and bloodied.

Now, you will remember that Mike has been trying to undermine III Arms for quite a while.  He made a BIG case about suckering an Alabama FFL07 to start putting the III Arms TradeMark on his products.  The folks at III Arms politely asked them to stop; they begged Randy Booth (Red Dot Arms owner to check with his attorney) and were treated to a steaming pile of fuck you for their kindness.  Mike reveled in this, calling me a "TradeMark Extortionist," among other impolite descriptors.  OK. 

Then Holly (Managing Member of III Arms) and Jim Miller (President of III Arms) decided to go medieval on Randy Booth at Red Dot and bring the wrath of God down upon his ears.  As of 2:30 am tonight there is an absolute lack of III branded material on the Red Dot site.  So, Mike again eats shit.  Not that this exonerates Randy or Red Dot, they will still be forced to answer for their hubris, previous actions and injuries, but it proves my ultimate point of this post.

When you are attacked or wronged, you tolerate that abuse as long as you choose to accept the abuse.  You turn the cheek until you are done turning the cheek.

Then, you go hard.

You go nuclear.  You scorch earth.  No prisoners.  You make your enemies beg for mercy.

Then you go harder.

Holly is not finished!  I suspect Miller is not finished!  They have invested blood, sweat, tears, treasure, and countless hours into building III Arms with the support of many others.

While I have ZERO affiliation to III Arms aside from cheerleading - I am married to Mrs. Kerodin, and people WILL pay for their disrespect of my wife.

Once she is done with them, including little Mikey Vanderboegh for his daring to meddle in the business of III Arms, then he will answer for his comments about my wife that he made to Pete, and he will answer for his actions toward her.

When you are fucked with, you win.  Or you die trying.

Proportional response is not a Kerodin trait.

When you are attacked, you reply harder, with everything you've got.  You win.  Epic win.

Randy at Red Dot Arms get's it, now, we hope.

I am very proud

One of our Patriots, whose name I will not use, comes to mind when I sometimes find myself in a place of worry about our chances in this existential and eternal struggle for Liberty.

The man is built like a truck.  Not a meek little Chevrolet Dooley - a Kenworth.

His heart is just as big.

I have met one of his children, and from what I have seen, he is one of those fathers men should seek to emulate.  He is a family man.  He has other children I have not yet met, but the smile on his face and in his eyes says all I need to know when he speaks of them.

I have met one of his dearest friends.  That friend is much as you might expect from the man I have described.  Hardcore.  A man who looks you in the eye.  A man who is not afraid to hug a fellow Patriot.  And he makes one hell of a bottle of brandy.  And he is one of those guys you want to be around.  Always.

Our Patriot recently began Krav Maga after taking the CQB class with us.  He's sent me two email updates, and I know enough about martial arts to know he is getting good training.  He doesn't need to learn how to beat a Navy SEAL who is 'clicked on' in full go mode.  He needs to be able to handle a few punks who may circle himself and his son, just long enough to pull his firearm and leave blood-splatter decorating the area.

Yes, he's got the balls to do it.

Yes, he's already got the skills, and he is refining them.

When I think of him, and other Patriots like him, especially those who get to deal with him in his Tribe, I feel better.

The Sheriff released a guy who had been arrested for carrying a firearm.  The Sheriff's position was that the Second Amendment trumped bad gun laws.

Florida prosecuted him.  Imagine that.

The jury told Florida to suck wind, and sent the Sheriff back to work.

Silliness Disposed & Dismissed, time for real business to resume...

Holly and I are continuing to get ready for our winter in Benewah County, looking forward to the people, the snow, and the business we intend to open to help settle the III in town before other Pioneer Patriots arrive in the spring.

Dust-ups like that of the last few days will happen time and again, as losers in life seek to prevent our success.  Such inferior people will always be handled the same - dismissed as irrelevant.  Their bullhorns reach a very small piece of the internet, affecting little.  Like this time, good people will always exit the process stronger than before.

Holly and I intend to open a wonderful studio on Main Avenue this winter.  Other companies already planning to come to the county include firearms manufacturers, ammunition factories, retail gun shops complete with full lines of outstanding gear, a brewery, a Farmers Market is in the plans and many other useful businesses and services for the town of St. Maries.  More businesses mean more jobs and economic growth!

Keep tuning into this blog for updates about coming new friends and neighbors.

The world beyond the beautiful state of Idaho is in the grips of dangerous trends that effect education and economy, politics and more.  Only by building a strong, self-reliant town with good jobs and healthcare and people in important roles, like Sheriff Resser, can St. Maries not only survive, but prevail.

SOG TigerShark

Anybody have any experience with the SOG TigerShark?

Cold Steel has discontinued their San Mai III Tanto line, which is the fighting knife of choice in the Kerodin household.  Since Cold Steel has NOTHING that comes close to the Tanto as a Tier 1 blade, I need a replacement.

I like my KABAR, but it too was discontinued.

The Cold Steel Tier 2&3 blades are good for their purpose - but not what my go-to blade must be.

Any insights to the TigerShark?  It has a 9" blade and serrations - both requirements.  It lacks my tanto point, but I'll just have to deal.

Time to get serious and design my own fighting blade, huh?

Heads up

As many of you have noticed in recent days, Mike has escaped his usual orbit of nucking futs.

As a result, I've moved posts regarding him to the garbage site.

The man is obviously mentally unstable, from my limited experience, and having to suffer through his own irrelevance in his dying days.  I can only imagine how it must feel to have dedicated his entire life to seeking an outcome, only to end up poor, sick, despised, failed on every measure of manhood, and claiming the successes of others as his own.  Now that he has brought a federal lawsuit upon his and his wife's head from at least one company and faces even further financial ruin, it would appear his Jesus Nut is about to let loose.  Sadly, I think he may be dangerous to himself and others.

But, that's for him to sort out with his God.

I've done what I can do to help from this end.  If needed, I'll write more on the topic this evening.

A savage broadhead

Suggested by a reader, the Toxic broadhead, made by Flying Arrow Archery.

Does anyone have any real-world experience with this broadhead?  I'd like reports on penetration and wound channel.

It appears pretty f*cking devastating, and I am specifically curious as to your thoughts for anti-personnel use.

They run about $15 each - cheap if one is forced to use old-school self-defense tools.

This is Sacramento California, the other day.  LEO was looking for a black gang-banger who had shot a few other badges.  So, why the rifle at the head of a white guy who doesn't exactly fit the gang-banger profile?

Because there is .Gov and then everyone else.

It is now policy of .Gov that you will comply first, and if you live through that experience, you can protest about how you were treated - to other members of .Gov.

.Gov believes they are a superiors class of American, complete with preferential treatment by their peers, and entitled to deferential treatment by you.

There are only two remedies for this evolution.

One: You comply.

Two: Flank & Spank (TM) until those claiming superior status relent or become extinct.

How you live is up to you.
