What the commentators seem to be saying about the assault on Charlie Hebdo is that not only is what is spoken or published protected by the First Amendment, but those who print and publish vile things must never suffer violent consequences.

Citadel: Yes, we have been quiet about the Citadel.  We never wanted Drudge exposure - but it is what it is.  III Patriots continue to grow this project, and if you have supported these efforts in any way in the past - thank you.  The foundation of the project continues to grow - quietly.

Redoubt PatCon: At some point this summer there will be a PatCon/Yapfest/Get Together in the Redoubt.  All III Patriots are welcome.  Anyone with interest in the Citadel, III Arms, Studio III, or the other projects running under the III banner are encouraged to make Idaho a family vacation destination and join us when we get together.  We'll talk, and much more.  A full agenda will be announced once the details have been sorted.  You can be present as we break ground for multiple...

IIIGear: Packages shipping (III Militia tabs, caps, and a few assorted orders).  We have deliberately not promoted IIIGear in recent months, simply because the logistics of satisfying orders while moving to the Redoubt would have been insane.  When we settle into our new offices, we'll be offering our traditional IIIGear line-up, as well as offering Rothco gear, and several additional lines of products useful to III Patriots.

Sparks31 Training Update

If you planned to get some training time in with Sparks31 in 2015, your options have narrowed.  You can read his update, here.  My advice: Book yourself into whichever class best fits your schedule and travel abilities - but book yourself into a class!  True Masters of their Arts are few and far between, and Sparks31 has demonstrated to us all he knows his art and science.  In addition - finding a true master who has the ability to impart his knowledge to newcomers is even more rare.

One weak spot in the III Community that has been revealed is simple, *old-school Comms that are truly secure.  Sparks did the community a service and broke-down the mechanics of the One Time Pad (OTP) in this post, here.  Read it.  Learn it.  Use it when lives are on the line - because modern Comms, at present, are the dominion of the Enemies of Liberty.

One does not seek permission of any man to do what must be done.

Real Americans still understand this Law of Nature.

The imminent sound of wailing and begging for mercy that will be heard across America (and is already beginning to rise upon the air) is nothing more than the application of Natural Law by real Americans.

Your Team

One of the polls at right reveals something interesting.  Just over 1/3 of you answered that you could be on the X in an hour with one serious and trusted ally.  Another 1/3 answered that you'd have 2 people with you - making a three-man team.  While all the usual disclaimers apply about blog polls, and the number of respondents is lower than the minimum 100 I prefer, the percentage trend lines are pretty solid.

Most of you can't (or have chosen not to) hit the Green in an hour with a four-man team.

Max, Mosby and most other trainers train the two-man Buddy Team, merging into four-man Fire Teams, and so on.

For those of you who can only muster 1 or 2 serious allies, do you train regularly in two-man and three-man team tactics?  Do you work on your larger team dynamics in any way to allow for adding new allies in the heat and chaos of an emergency?

In another discussion direction - why do you think you are having such difficulty adding members?  Is it the "oh, you are militia whack-a-doos" paradigm getting in the way?

If you choose to weigh-in on the latter, keep your answers focused on your specific AO versus a broad brush national supposition.

Sparks31: The One Time Pad (OTP)

Sparks31 has written an excellent piece I am calling OTP 101.

As a communications method, the OTP simply can not be broken by anyone.  It can be compromised if your security or tradecraft is sloppy - but when used properly, it is unbeatable.

It is 2015 now, but I contend the calendar doesn't mean much, nor will it for a while.  America is at war.  In my lifetime this culture and ideological war inside our borders has been little more than grumbling, shouting, pushing, shoving, lawfare and the occasional bomb from idiots like the Dorns. 

But in recent months it has been escalating along ideological lines, camouflaged in thin veils called racism, social justice, et cetera.  LEO are beginning to be hunted.  The spin is seeking to make recent attacks on LEO to be race or otherwise motivated, when the reality is obvious: It is an ideological fight between people who mean to be Masters and people who mean to be free and at Liberty, especially from the Master's Praetorian.  The rhetoric is dropping pretense at a quick pace. 

This is the era of "Dropped Optics" as I predicted we would see from the 2014 mid-terms, until one side or the other in this Liberty versus Tyranny ideological war is won, by one side or the other.  I have never bothered with diplomatic nice-speak when writing on this blog.  The reason is simple: The ideological Enemies of Liberty will never, ever be persuaded to cease seeking to bind us in chains by simply using our words.  They will need a backfist.  I simply can't be bothered to play nice with a man who wants me to bend knee.

Nor can I be bothered by those stuck in Normalcy Bias loops.  Reality will fix that, not me. 

The coming 6-9 months will be very busy for the Kerodins, the various III projects we have been proud to help you build, our work in Idaho.  I know many of you intend to come to the new Studio and train.  I know many of you are interested in coming to train on the mountain.  (Announcement on the specifics of that topic will be coming when appropriate, and it relates to far more than Combatives/CQB).  I fully expect to travel and train a few groups and Tribes in their respective AOs in 2015 - but not many - so if you want to get me on your schedule, do it quickly once I announce I am ready to fill my dance card.

Why mention these things in a post about OTPs written by Sparks31?

Because RevWarIII, or call it Civil War II, is just ramping up.  These are the good ol' days.  We will likely have years of deterioration, destruction, hardship, limited quality-of-life items, and fighting in the polygonal battlespace.

At some point the Kerodins will go silent in public, and it will probably happen without notice.  I do not expect that to happen during the next calendar year - but the Enemies of Liberty have more control over that topic than do I.

When we go publicly silent, I will make it possible for a trusted few of you to make contact.  The ONLY method of contact in which I will engage will be face-to-face, radio, and OTPs.  Obviously, the more sensitive and dangerous the content of any contact will determine how we communicate.  Obviously, if we have not met and had the opportunity to take measure of one another, I probably won't be willing to meet after everything goes hot.

So, my friends: Learn to use the OTP.  The only way I will ever exchange OTPs is face-to-face - so plan on making that happen.  Learn CW/Morse, because in many, many cases, the only contact I will permit is radio, and using words on a radio in a hostile world for us relative amateurs simply will not be prudent in most cases.  Meeting face-to-face in hostile conditions - the only way I will share IFF with my trusted allies will be, you guessed it, face-to-face.

So, whether you come to my AO for training and meeting to build trust, or I come to your AO to train and break bread, or you are a III Society Member who I have met and measured (as you do the same) at a III Society event, when I go dark, you will probably not hear my name again until my Obit is broadcast by Enemy media.

Nor is the OTP simply for communicating with distant allies.  It is useful among your Team(s), your Agent(s), your Intel network.

Please go to Sparks31's site, read and practice the OTP method he has graciously shared.  Make hard copies.  Put it on thumb drives and share with your allies (the methodology, NOT your actual OTPs).  Instead of a Scrabble night or a beer night shooting 9-ball, get your Team together and practice, practice, practice.

Sides have been chosen by most people who will be first on the Greens across America.

If you know who won the Super Bowl before you can build and use a OTP in the methodology Sparks presents - you simply are not serious about RevWarIII.

Or is this last year's goodness, good enough for another year more? 

Did I make any difference in anyone's life? 

Did I allow anyone to make a difference in mine? 

Which relationships have I deepened?

Which others are bruised and beaten?

Did any of my dreams, this year come true?

And, did I remember to feel gratitude?

Did I dream any new dreams, or am I forgetting how?

And, what does the world need most from me now?

Are you squared away?

**UPDATE**  I keep bumping this post because so many of you have been away and otherwise-focused during the holidays, and I want most of my readers to see it at least once (for the polls at right).

This is the last time I am going to add the disclaimer to any of my posts that you should do PT and you should acquire as much practical tactical experience from good trainers.  It is such a fundamental, bedrock aspect of preparing yourself for potential disasters that I personally believe it is insulting as fuck-all to my readers to keep nagging them like schoolchildren, or tying a little string to your fingers so you'll remember to do your chores.  Do PT that works for you.  Get as much training from the best trainers possible, that works for you.  Everybody reading this blog is a serious adult, and you know what you need to do without me nagging and insulting your intelligence by constantly re-stating the obvious.

With that little bit of nonsense out of the way, I have a simple few questions to pose.

With the understanding that everyone can improve their skillsets, I've set up a pair of polls at right.

The questions are simple.

If you had to go operational to defend your home & hearth in 10 minutes, do you trust your current level of:

• Two-Man & Four-Man Combat Team Skills
• Combatives/CQB Fighting Skills
• Comms Skills (local and long-range)
• Trauma Medical Skills
• The tech/Mech Skills of Breaking Shit
• Breaking Bad People on the down-low
• Setting-up an effective Intel Shop
• Getting out of Dodge after a Caper

When you answer the polls at right, you can answer as many selections as you wish.  But what I am looking for is a deep introspective look inside yourself and an honest answer - are you ready to get that job done right now, or is that particular skill you truly think you need to improve in order to get home alive.

Leave your Ego out of the equation.  To help encourage that, I'll give you my answers in public.

Two-Man & Four-Man Combat Team Skills - This is my absolute weakest skill.  I have always fought alone, never .mil style in a Buddy Team or Fire Team.  I will get the mechanics, probably at Georgia Force on Force.

Combatives/CQB Fighting Skills - Yeah, I'm good to go on this one.

Comms Skills (local and long-range) - I need work here.  I'm getting the bookwork in now, then I need to pay Sparks for as much of his knowledge as I can afford.

Trauma Medical Skills - I am as good as I am going to get.  I'll usually keep you alive until we can get you to a real medic, provided God hasn't other plans for you.

The Tech/Mech Skills of Breaking Shit - I'm good to go here.

Breaking Bad People on the down-low - Yep, good to go.

Setting-up an effective Intel Shop - Some of you know some of my past in this area, some of you have seen me work in this arena, and some of you I may tell later.  I'm no William Donovan, but few men ever could be...

Getting out of Dodge after a Caper - I've not been caught yet.  But that is because I am a fine and upstanding Citizen and would never have need of testing such skills...

One final question, not on the polls.  Feel free to answer in comments: Do you feel you are at least the fighting equal of a modern US Army Infantry Soldier or USMC Rifleman.  I'm not asking about your physical prowess to compete with him on an endurance run or obstacle course.  I'm asking - do you know as much about closing with and killing the enemy on the field of battle as today's USA/USMC Infantryman/Rifleman?
