...even through the first margarita.

She is also highly organized. **cough*OCD*cough**

She has wonderful penmanship.

In line with these traits, she labels everything - it's all very Sheldonian.

Yet when you mix the number three most stressful life event into her world, you get a moving box labeled as above.  When you see an "organized" woman putting coffee pots, bowls and my training compression shorts into the same bin - you know Houston is having a problem.  Another clue is the devolving nature of her penmanship at the hour she wrote that label.

Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap...

I have said consistently that all the answers we need to return America back toward our founding ideals can be found in our past.  Mister Jefferson's "sow & reap" quote is certainly applicable to school lunches, and nearly every other issue into which FedGov inserts itself.

The days of the Renaissance Man are over.  The body of knowledge is simply too vast for any one man to master, anymore.  As we all know, our world is today one of specialties.  The odds that your pediatrician performs surgeries are nearly nil.  The odds that your plumber can properly repair your roof are slim.  This specialization is a net-negative for mankind.  The mental processes that lead one to think that specialization is good is the same mental process that permits the average man to stand aside in self-doubt instead of stepping forward to right a wrong in his midst.  That is someone else's job. I've never lifted a car off a person before, better wait for the rescue squad.  I've never balanced a federal budget, better leave it to the experts.

Most of you who read this blog have probably muttered the same sentiment I did: Hokum!

Most of us believe a man should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

No, very few Humans will ever be as proficient in brain surgery as they are in Astrophysics - but that isn't the point.  Nor is excelling in one pursuit a bad thing - so long as one never surrenders a base-level of competence in the rest of the skills necessary to life.

I hold common sense as the rarest and most valuable trait among most Americans today.  In my life I have found there are particular groups of Americans who have common sense in abundance, and there are many groups among us who seem abjectly bereft.

If you possess common sense, you already know what must be done to save our country, our ideals, and the future for our posterity.  If you have found yourself holding back for any reasons - it's time to push through that mental block and begin applying heavy doses of common sense to everyone and everything around you.

You know what must be done to eliminate the Stupid from our midst.

If you are a serious Patriot you know you need relevant, practical and high-quality training.  If you can only devote a weekend here or there with a professional trainer, you need that weekend to be packed with the most effective tactics and skills that you will need back home.  You do not have the luxury of a training weekend that doesn't deliver the most return for your money.  Nor can you afford to invest in training based only on the lowest price.  You get what you pay for in this world, and we all know it.

The III Society is offering a Scholarship to Max Velocity's Rifleman Challenge in March.  One Member of the Society will attend and have the opportunity to measure his skills and improve weak-spots.  And I can say this without reservation: The winner of the Scholarship will have the benefit of being with the best combat trainer (and person) who is currently taking his time and energy to train Patriots.  I know everyone reading this blog has read Max's blog, and many of you have read his books.  If you have read his Rightful Liberty series of essays, you know he gets it.  I know many people who I trust implicitly who have been through his courses, and not one single person has ever reported that Max and his training is anything but extraordinary.

I also know, due to personal and direct interaction, that Max is an honest man.

You might think that is a quality to be found in every "Patriot" or "Trainer" - but you'd be wrong.

I can personally commend to you very few trainers in the Combat Arts - Max, Grenadier, Sparks.

That's it.  Because the heart and character of the man matters.  I may be able to recommend others in the future, but not today.

Whether you win the Scholarship or not, you need to find the resources and make the time to go train.

Life is going to test you.  Make sure you acquire the skills you need to pass that test.

We are where we are because Americans dropped the ball, because we let it get to where it is. No one else is responsible. How about taking some responsibility? Blame the Statists, the collectivists? Statists will as Statists do, if you let them.
