III Comms: KX1 for your AO

You need a comprehensive Comms infrastructure.  I know most of you have voice comms covered.

Consider the value, under certain circumstances, of having particular members of your Tribe outfitted with radios like the Elecraft KX1.  This little radio is CW only.  It lends itself to comms duties that need to be a bit more sneaky-sneaky.

Here's the link to the gear.  Here's a link to the KX3 - a sneaky-sneaky radio with much more capability.

Think about it.  If you think something will help you and your Tribe not only survive, but prevail, and reduce the incidences of relocation, boots-on-necks, rapes and disappearings - get those widgets now, while your FRNs still have some utility beyond the outhouse.  On the day that the camel's back snaps - and it will happen suddenly, with little or no warning - your ability to use PayPal to get widgets overnighted to your house will be nil.

Don't be that guy.

Reader News Submissions

We've added a link at the top of the blog where Patriots may provide links to stories they find relevant to the Liberty Movement.

Practical Tactical: OSS Simple Sabotage

I commend to you the OSS Sabotage manual.  It is written in typical OSS fashion - plain language, realistic operations, and old- school simplicity.

Even if you never need to monkey-wrench a widget, this manual will help you identify widgets that are important to you and how to defend them.

Amazon has it for sale here.

It's also available free online in several places, including here.

The most effective weapon in your arsenal is your mind.

III Chaplain Corps

Anyone who has had the good fortune of meeting Prepping Preacher knows he (and his lovely wife) are purebred Americans.  He is recovering from recent eye surgery, and is once again posting for you at the III Chaplain Corps site.

Faith, however you define it and practice it, is fundamental to a moral and ethical culture.

III Comms: Radio Protocols

Shoot, Move & Communicate.

These are the fundamentals.

Sparks on Squad Radio selections, here.

Sparks offers a FM for standards so you and your team will be on the same page as the team in the next county, next state, and across the country.  When you make it to MVT or to Georgia Force on Force, if you and your team are training to standard protocols, you can work together.  That is the goal.  Master the fundamentals.

III Craftsman

We chose the Spartan Helm as the logo for the combatives side of the new studio.  It conveys the right message, and it ties-in with our other III work.  Bill has been doing some excellent work with the helm, and he came up with this key chain.  We'll be selling them in the studio for our students, and III Patriots can order them directly from Bill.

You know what the helm represents - it doesn't need any sales pitch from me.

You can see the quality of Bill's product - that doesn't need my help either.  It is awesome in design and finish.  And it is functional, too - more than just a place for keys.  I'll let Bill explain that for you.

Drop by his shop and order one (or 10 - for your Patriot friends), and while you are there, explore his full line of offerings.

Here's the link.

Fear

Fear is a bitch.  It comes in many forms.  It can sneak up on you, or it can telegraph itself.  Fear of failure strikes many people.  Fear of pain can make most people change their mind about doing X. Fear of death, believe it or not, is often less stark than many other fears, such as failing to protect one's children or spouse.  Fear, and the related stress that comes with it, can kill you as dead as any bullet.

When one permits fear to prevent doing what is necessary, fear wins - as do your enemies.  Many of you have faced real fear on the battlefield in the military.  For many of you, I suspect it will be easier to go to the Green when the time comes than it is to sit in this limbo we are all enduring now.  Why? Because you have been there before, and while it may still scare the hell out of you when bullets begin flying your way again- you've probably conditioned yourself to the point that you may suffer the fear, but not inaction.

Most people in the Liberty Movement have never had anyone shooting at them in anger.  Few know what it is like to have angry men (or worse - calm professionals) try to gut you or break you at buckle-to-buckle range.  You will probably not face your most intense fear - terror - at a convenient time or place.

One can pontificate ad nauseum on how to overcome fears.  You can read books, listen to lectures, and try to convince yourself  'it is all in your head'.  Fear isn't just in your head - real fear twists your guts.  Let me give you my short & sweet 2 cents on the topic, based on a life in the martial arts and using those skills professionally at various times in my mis-spent youth: You can't rationalize or reason your way through fear.  You can't do anything but meet it head-on, then find whatever mechanism lies within you to push through the worst byproduct of fear - inaction, or as Max calls it, the freeze - and go to work.

I can't tell you how many seriously proficient martial artists I have known in my life who could whip most people on the mat on any given day, yet froze when challenged outside the dojo.  I have seen it too many times.  These are people who are bigger, stronger, faster, and physically tougher than most. These are people who know - intimately - what it feels like to get an eye swelled shut or a nose turned into a crimson gusher.  Yet outside of 'their element', fear won.

If you fear getting hit in the face, go to a dojo or boxing gym and train.  You'll get hit in the face, and slowly that fear will fall aside as a paralyzing fear.  If you are afraid of being choked-out - get your choke on and work past it.  I can't tell you how to prepare for that granddaddy mutha that will come at some point so that you won't suffer horrible consequences.  All I can say is get used to facing fears, get used to the process of facing fears - so that when that humdinger gets in your grille, you'll at least have a chance.  Do not let the fear of fear prevent you from tackling the issue now, when the stakes are lower.

Just please do not lie to yourself and assume you'll not be afraid.  Fear is an equal opportunity S.O.B. and there is no shame in admitting that it is real, and must be handled.

Max has written an outstanding piece on the topic, here.

Wait - What???

We have to win with reason, logic and ideas!

Wait - WTF?

No, we don't.

Why must I take the time or energy to educate the plurality of the people sharing my world that it is wrong for them to take my stuff by force or threat of force?  Why do silly people insist I must use only my words to end predations upon me that are usually not manifest with a gun in my face?  You tax my bread from hundreds or thousands of miles away and think my only recourse is my words?

Sorry.  I was taught at a young age how to deal with parasites - and 'coexistence' wasn't even in the top ten most effective options.

Examine that which you are willing to tolerate, folks.

Patriot Calendar & Thoughts

I've looked, and can't find any central repository of upcoming events that should/may be of interest to Patriots.

So, Item One: If you have an upcoming event in your AO or greater AO that either has national scope, or is relevant to Patriots on at least a county-level, send it along and I'll create a dedicated page so we can all have an idea what is happening across the country.

Item Two: I do not have time to devote to keeping such a project going, though I think it is important for us all.  So, any current bloggers or Patriots who want to undertake the responsibility, let me know and I'll help you get set up.

Item Three: I think it is important for Patriots to build a network *beyond* our secret squirrel SHTF Doomsday smoke signal protocols - something less intense and less formal, yet with real potential for keeping us in contact.  I don't recommend re-inventing the wheel.

What are your thoughts about using the current network of gun shows across the country as a place where local and regional Patriots can get together, either with a booth or simply "Meet at the hot dog wagon at 0900"?  Patriots may decide to fly III IFF to help build awareness in a not-so-much-in-your-face manner, or not. Once in a while a booth could be set up and Patriots could hand out free lists of III/Liberty sites. You get the idea.  If we decide to do such a thing either nationally, or regionally, there should be some structure so it isn't the same few guys getting together all the time, while others watch football or take care of Honey-Do lists.

Thoughts?

III Bloggers

This is for III Patriots who have blogged in the past and may have drifted away from the work, and for those Patriots who have dared to break cover by commenting on various Liberty blogs - consider returning to the work of blogging, or starting a blog.

This blogging work is not glamorous. It is real work. It raises your profile to the Enemies of Liberty. It sucks at times. But the value to the Liberty Movement is immeasurable.  Every single Patriot who accepts the burden of standing and adding his or her voice to the discussion is doing serious work against tyranny.  Don't think you are articulate enough? That isn't the measure. What matters is the number of people willing to stand and add to the volume of the Liberty conversation.

Start pecking at your keyboard - again or for the first time.

You can do it.  We need you to do it.

Think about it.

Dedicated Pages

I promised everyone a re-boot of our III Projects once we finally settled here in the Redoubt.

We are working on multiple fronts, from III Society to IIIGear to the PatCon and more.

Above you'll notice I have begun to re-install dedicated pages (Look just under the top "III Percent Patriots" Title.)

Lineman will be hosting a discussion for folks considering a move to the III Redoubt.

We've added a page for the Idaho PatCon where Holly & Miss Violet will be releasing details and answering questions about our Summer PatCon here in the beautiful mountains of the Redoubt.  This will be a serious event, with great food, great people, gear reviews, classes, and more.  This part of the country is ideal for family vacations - I encourage you to consider bringing the RV and family, spend a week or so at PatCon, and exploring all the area has to offer.

More announcements on our re-boot as pieces fall into place.

In the meantime, really consider the picture at the top of this post. Notice the arm patch. Notice he and his team are training - something that every single Patriot should be doing as a part of your lifestyle.
