It matters who is in the cockpit...

Despite the howls from  '...the smartest people in the room...' this blog has always advocated voting, regardless of what you think may happen, or what one wishes to happen, in America.  

We believe it matters who is in the cockpit, especially if your plane is going down.

With President Trump we will soon have a 6-3 SCOTUS.  With a President HRC, we'd be facing 6-3 the other way.  Even the most hardcore, anti-American, anti-Constitution Anarchist has to comprehend that we are better with President Trump in the cockpit.

Forget the deceit of Marbury - most of us agree that SCOTUS was never meant to be the final arbiter of what is, and is not, constitutional.  Most of us agree that SCOTUS will be, when push comes to shove, irrelevant to the kinetic resolution of political differences between Americans and Leftists.

But until that moment comes - it matters who is in the cockpit.

When that moment comes, it will matter who is on your town council, in your mayor's office.  It matters who wears the badge of Sheriff.  It matters who is in your state and national offices.  Like it or not, these are some of the people who will decide what remains legal as you prep and train.  Like it or not, some of these people will decide when, and if, to deploy water cannons, drones, road blocks and more.

When the flag goes up, like it or not, it is in your best interest to have the least evil and most moral people possible in all those positions.

Vote.  It is the cheapest prep on your list.

If you think prepping would be easier under a HRC SCOTUS, you are wrong.

If you think prepping is easier for Californians or Marylanders with their insane 'Assault Rifle' bans, you are wrong.

America was founded by smart men.  If American ideals are to prevail, it will be necessary for modern Patriots to be smart and weaken the Enemies of Liberty at every opportunity.

This battle will be won or lost before a single Patriot fires a shot in anger.

Flight 1549 crash landed without a single loss of life - because of who was in the cockpit.

So said President Donald Trump, on issuing his order halting the separation of children from parents caught breaking into the country. Trump’s enemies are celebrating a victory. Yet the issue remains.

Under U.S. law, teenagers and tots cannot be detained for more than 20 days and must be held in the least-restrictive facilities. But if the children cannot be separated from the parents as they await trial, both will have to be released to keep families together.

We are back to “catch and release.”

When that welcome news hits Central America, the migrant stream moving north will become a river that never ceases to flow.

The questions America and the West face might thus be framed:

Is there a liberal, progressive, Christian way to seal a 2,000-mile border, halt millions of migrants from crossing it illegally, and send intruders back whence they came? Or does the preservation of Western nations and peoples require measures from which liberal societies today reflexively recoil?

Does the survival of the West as a civilization require a ruthlessness the West no longer possess?

Consider what our fathers did to build this country.

The English settlers brought in 600,000 slaves, ethnically cleansed the Indians, joined their cousins in a war to expel the French, then revolted and threw out those cousins to claim all the land to the Mississippi for ourselves.

Jefferson grabbed the vast Louisiana Territory for $15 million from Napoleon, who had no right to sell it. Andrew Jackson drove the Spanish out of Florida, sent the Cherokee packing on the Trail of Tears, and told a dissenting Chief Justice John Marshall where he could go.

Sam Houston tore Texas away from Mexico. “Jimmy” Polk took the Southwest and California in a war Ulysses Grant called “the most unjust ever fought.” When the South declared independence, Lincoln sent a million-man army to march them back in a war that cost 600,000 lives.

William McKinley sent armies and warships to seize Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam and the Philippines. The indigenous peoples were not consulted. “God told me to take the Philippines,” said McKinley.

The conquest and colonization of the New World and the creation of the United States and its rise to world power required acts of aggression and war of which many among our elites are ashamed. They exhibit their guilt by tearing down the statues of the men who perpetrated the “crimes” that created America. But of these elites, it may be fairly said: they could never have built a nation like ours.

Which brings us again to the larger questions.

While our forefathers would have not hesitated to do what was needed to secure our borders and expel intruders, it is not a settled matter as to whether this generation has the will to preserve the West.

Progressives may parade their moral superiority as they cheer the defeat of the “zero tolerance” policy. But they have no solution to the crisis. Indeed, many do not even see it as a crisis because they do not see themselves as belonging to a separate tribe, nation or people threatened by an epochal invasion from the Third World.

They see themselves as belonging to an ideological nation, a nation of ideas, whose mission is to go forth and preach and teach all peoples the gospel of democracy, diversity and equality.

And this is why the establishment was repudiated in 2016. It was perceived as too elite, too liberal, too weak to secure the borders and repel the invaders.

“If you’re really, really pathetically weak, the country is going to be overrun with millions of people,” said Trump Wednesday. Is he wrong?

Since the Cold War ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, it has grown apparent that the existential threat to the West comes not from Czar Vladimir’s Russian divisions returning to the Elbe.

The existential threat came from the south.

Half a century ago, Houari Boumedienne, the leader of a poor but militant Algeria, allegedly proclaimed at the United Nations:

“One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere. And they will not go there as friends. Because they will go there to conquer it. And they will conquer it with their sons. The wombs of our women will give us victory.”

This is the existential crisis of the West.

Thus, Trump seeks to build a wall, turn back the intruders, and bring Vladimir Putin back into the Western camp, where Russia belongs. Thus the new populist regime in Rome blocks boats of refugees from landing in Italy. Thus Angela Merkel looks like yesterday, and Viktor Orban like tomorrow.

Clemency in the works for Dwight & Steven Hammond?

According to a report by Protect the Harvest, sent to us by Patriot & Ally Mark Johnson, clemency is under review by White House Counsel.

Now is the time to make noise - fill social media with 'Free the Hammonds' and related chatter to ensure the White House hears positive feedback.

From the piece: The father and son asked for clemency from President Barack Obama shortly after resuming incarceration, but it now appears their request has gained traction under the Trump administration.

Protect the Harvest, a nonprofit representing agriculture and hunting interests, has learned the Hammonds’ request for clemency has in recent weeks come under review by the Office of the White House Counsel Don McGahn, said Dave Duquette, the group’s national strategic planner.

“It’s moving much quicker than we anticipated it moving,” he said. “That’s a good thing, from what I’ve heard.”

The Hammonds have sought a commutation of their sentences but are hoping for a full pardon, which is within the president’s power to give, Duquette said.

“If they only get a commutation, then they’re still felons,” and subject to a prohibition on owning guns, among other restrictions, he said.

SEATTLE –  Alexander Mckenzie, a 31-year-old Army veteran who, according to court documents, is being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder, recently had his gun confiscated by the Seattle Police Department even though he had committed no crime.

It’s one of 27 guns seized legally by the Seattle Police Department from 16 individuals since last July under Washington State’s new Extreme Risk Protection Order law.

McKenzie had been acting strange, glaring at customers of a pizza restaurant while carrying his handgun. He now agrees with the firearm seizure.

“I’m grateful that the police got the gun away from me,” McKenzie told Fox News.

Washington is one of six states with high risk or red flag laws. But in the wake of the Parkland school shooting, the Brady Campaign says at least 30 states are considering them.

“I think we’re seeing a building consensus in blue states and red states that this is a good way to balance public safety against people’s Second Amendment rights,” said Jaron Lindbaum of Washington Ceasefire.

A judge determines if the person is a danger to himself or others. If the order is issued, the guns can be seized immediately, but the gun owner gets to make his or her case in court within two weeks.

On the issue of homosexuality, have we ascended to a higher moral plateau? Or has America jettisoned the truths we believed and replaced them with the tenets of an ideology that may be politically and culturally ascendant but is rooted in nothing but baseless assertions and lies?

In short, cultural Marxists and their progressive allies have taken an ideological assertion — homosexuality is normal, natural and moral — without any historical, biological or scientific basis, and asserted it as truth, established it as law, and demanded that we accept and act upon this truth, or face the wrath of the regime.

As Russell Kirk wrote, ideology is political religion. And the dogmas of the political religion by which we are increasingly ruled have displaced the teachings of Christianity and tradition.

Since the Stonewall Riot of 1969, homosexual relationships have gone from being seen as indecent and immoral, to being tolerated, to being accepted, to being on the same plane as traditional marriage, to being a constitutional right.

And if you do not accept the new morality, you are a deplorable bigot. And if you act on your disbelief in the equality of homosexuality, you will be ostracized and punished.

The truths being jettisoned built the greatest civilization known to man. Will the invented truths of our new egalitarianism survive the arrival of the new barbarians? It’s not looking all that good right now.

Pardon the Hammonds

The Hammonds are the victims of one of the most egregious, indefensible and intolerable instances of prosecutorial misconduct in history. Their situation cries out for justice that can come only from President Trump. 

The Hammonds’ crime? They set a legally permissible fire on their own property, which accidentally burned out of control onto neighboring federal land. Normally, that is an infraction covered by laws governing trespassing, and the guilty party is subject to paying for damages caused by the fire – if the neighboring land belongs to an ordinary citizen.

But not when a vindictive federal government is involved.

Have you ever seen the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers? It’s an allegorical fiction about a communist takeover. Well, we’re living it. In fact, the pod people are attempting to convince the world that they are the ones fighting the alien invasion! This lie is repeated on every news channel. And you might easily believe them: First, because you did not understand who the enemy was. Second, because you don’t believe in pod people. Third, because you voted pod people into the White House in 1992, 1996, 2008 and 2012. And when the pod people finally colonized your government and rotted out your nuclear arsenal, the old pod president didn’t go back to Illinois. He remained in Washington to command the pod-people army inside the federal government, while Mr. Trump erroneously believes himself to be in charge.

So they don’t believe in Marxism-Leninism anymore? So why do we have socialized medicine? And why does Vladimir Lenin, who died in 1924, lie calmly with his eyes closed in his mausoleum on Red Square – not buried in a grave with a stone marker? No doubt, he is kept on display in Moscow because “nobody there believes in him anymore”! It’s a funny kind of not-believing in someone, don’t you think?

Nobody in Moscow believes in communism! They refuse to bury Lenin because he makes a nice tourist attraction. And besides, Vladimir Putin wears a cross and says he believes in God. (Well, he doesn’t really like to talk about it. But we think he believes in God.) And so, at the end of the day, we are all Kremlin puppets. We are all bouncing helplessly at the end of Moscow’s string. Even now the puppet-master appears to be at odds with his most secret creatures – the moles at CIA and FBI! Appearances notwithstanding, the puppeteer must always hide the puppet’s strings. This he accomplishes by a diversion in which he calls the man (Trump) a puppet and the puppet (Obama) he calls a man. And so, as well, he calls his friend enemy and his enemy he calls friend.

How President Trump will be Judged...

In the last analysis, then, it is upon three questions that the Trump presidency will be judged:

Did he secure America’s borders? Did he restore the industrial might of America? Did he take us out of and keep us out of any more neocon wars?

In the end these are the metrics that will be used by those who voted for him.

It is a simple test: Did he do what he promised?

It is also a fair test.

Normalcy Bias

Noun

(sociology) The phenomenon of disbelieving one's situation when faced with grave and imminent danger and/or catastrophe. As in overfocusing on the actual phenomenon instead of taking evasive action, a state of paralysis.

If you don't think nearly every member of the Liberty Movement has slipped into a state of normalcy bias and dismissal, you are probably in a state of normalcy bias.

Despite the Liberty Establishment Intelligentsia who relentlessly preach to us from their on-high perches in the blogosphere that Presidents can't really do anything, a little objective observation will inform you differently.

Example One: President Obama destroyed 1/6th of our economy and the best healthcare system in the world in just one  act: ObamaCare.  While our medical system at the time was (and remains) horribly corrupted and dysfunctional, he made it exponentially worse.

Example Two: President Trump has begun to unleash the economy with simple deregulation and America First policies and tax cuts.

Both of these events created epic shifts in American life, reaching from boardrooms to soup kitchens.  Everyone has been touched by these two examples.  And there are many more.

But America is still on the same high-velocity glide path toward a crater as she has ever been.

The reason is very, very simple.

The Red Plague has managed to seduce and corrupt a very strong majority of Americans.

More than half of American households accept some form of welfare from some .gov entity.  It is the people in those households, Pig Farmers one and all, who believe they are entitled to the fruits of your labors.  This is a corruption of mind and soul, a loss of virtue.

Your neighbors are the problem and they have not changed their base nature under either Obama or President Trump.

Nor will they.  They are fouled souls who are willing to take the money stolen from your pockets - then go zip-lining.

If you are stuck in normalcy bias: Pull your head out of your bum and re-focus on the coming Big Die Off.  You can ignore reality - but reality doesn't give a whit about what you think.

Gun Confiscation Crusade Begins...

We have held for years that the Liberty Movement becomes far too breathless every time the Reds start banging the gun control gong.  

This time is no different, for the same reason: The Second Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights to recognize and affirm our inalienable right to arms - to be used against exactly the people who would disarm you.

The Second Amendment may no more be abolished (legitimately) than can the First, or Fourth, or any other of your inalienable Rights - unless you let them do it, whether all at once or incrementally.  Americans have suffered and endured many such aggressions by our Masters.  However, the only blame to be laid is at our own feet.  We tolerate FISA abuses.  We tolerate searches at airports and demands for our pass codes on our devices.  We tolerate traffic cams. We tolerate politicians who mandate full-auto weapons are forbidden and we tolerate the hoops they make us jump through for suppressors and other devices.  We tolerate the political class in Washington and every state capital and their shenanigans.  We tolerate the theft of four trillion bucks a year that FedGov steals from our economy - not to mention that taken by the states and locals.

We tolerate.

Isn't it interesting that the only amendment in the Bill of Rights that states '...shall not be infringed...' is in the Second?

Everything will be infringed, by somebody, so long as you permit it to happen.

And yet our Founders and Framers showed us how to shut down tyrants, and they even embodied the means in our Bill of Rights.

But only Man can limit the tyranny of another Man.  No parchment can do it.  Not even that tricked and slick AR can do it - without a man or woman willing to stand and stop tolerating abuse.
