III Gear: Flags

UPDATE: We hit our minimum, folks! Thank you all. I'll be placing our order tomorrow night, so they'll get to work on it Monday morning. (I am still waiting for the proof). If you want a flag, order this weekend - I am probably not ordering many extras, and I won't re-order without another minimum of 25. So, if you want one, order this weekend.

Thank you all.

K

~~

UPDATE: I'm still waiting for the final proof. We need 0 more pre-paid orders, folks, to hit our minimum. Let's make sure we have flags at our PatComs and flags to wave in the faces of Occupy idiots this spring.

~~

UPDATE: We have 28 orders pre-paid, folks.

I posted this as a comment, but I think it deserves to be up here, too.

Black on OD will be difficult to read, compared to black on white.

But, that is the purpose of subdued. Those who know us will recognize our flags, hats, shirts, et cetera, immediately.

Subdued pattern in OD and Black whispers, it doesn't shout. It is a 1,000 yard stare, rather than bluster.

To me it conveys that we can walk softly, because we are the big stick.

And when this mess is over, we can slip back into our lives as unceremoniously as we took the field. Afterall, we are here to do a job, not earn cheers and accolades.

OD and black, to me, means we are all business...serious, dangerous business. When Operator's go to work they leave the dress uniforms in the closet and go subdued.

That's my perspective, and it carries no more weight than anyone else's.

~~

III Bloggers: Any help spreading the word about the flags is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I wish we had the resources to satisfy everyone. But, reality is different. Flags are an expensive proposition and I don't want to invest in a minimum quantity only to have inventory sitting on my shelf - so: I have posted a PayPal button on the top right of this page to buy a flag.

I am ordering OD Green background with Black Minuteman and III symbol, just like our patches. The word RESIST WILL be included. The cost is $45 per flag with an additional $11.35 for Shipping.

I am posting the button this afternoon, but I am not going to place the order until we have at least 25 orders pre-paid. So, if you want an OD & Black flag with our minuteman, III and Resist, hit the order button.

The money you submit to PayPal will stay there until we hit our 25 minimum goal. If for any reason we do not get 25 people to pre-pay, I can hit a button at PayPal and your money will be refunded. (Paypal keeps a small percentage that they do not refund, just about 4%).

If we get enough support for this first flag with Resist included, I'll place a second order for the same flag without Resist on it. But the same minimum number of pre-paid orders will be required.

I'll have a proof in the next 2-3 days, as soon as I get it I'll post it for you.

Recap: OD flag with black Minuteman, III and Resist. 3' x 5' made of superknit polyester which (the company says) is durable, suitable for moderate outdoor use, and looks good. The logo is printed on one side, so the reverse side will have a mirror image.

If you want one, hit the button ---->

As soon as we hit 25 orders, I'll pull the trigger.

K

~~

UPDATE: I think we are all leaning toward an OD flag with black logo, to keep with our Brand.

I am toying with several color schemes, including red and white for the logo, but mixed with the OD it doesn't convey the same "Umph" that our subdued Black on OD carries. I'll keep experimenting.

Size: Does 3x5 work for most people?

K

Flags are on many minds, folks.

I have hesitated only because of the costs involved and the number of sales needed to make it viable.

I have added two potential versions, above.

What do you think? White flag with black symbol? Should I try for an OD flag with black logo, so it will be subdued (and will hold up better in the elements)?

Do we include Resist or not?

So, I need your input on colors & Resist. I also need yourt input on whether we should go silk-screened or stitched. Silk-screened is considerably cheaper.

Final: If we decide to go for a flag purchase, I will need 1 dozen pre-paid orders to make it happen. I'll get firm prices once I know we are a Go.

Update: Also give a rough top price you'd be willing/able to pay so I can see if we are even in the ballpark.

  1. Greetings:

Personally, for the purposes of a contemporary violent revolt, I prefer the Bonny Blue Flag, due to its historic origin, and its use in previous similar conflicts.

I wish I could find one designed as a car window flag that I could fly above the cab of my pickup truck, but nobody makes them or sells them.

    Thank you.

  2. Not white...it might be construed as surrender. And we are not about that.

  3. I like the design of the first one, I also like the idea of OD green.

    $50.00-$75.00? Doesn't really matter I'm in.

  4. I think the flag on it's own, without "Resist" is best...

  5. Either green or black. I'd stay away from the white for the reason mentioned above. As far as the design, I think without the Resist and maybe with the Minuteman and III in the middle.
I'll go 50 bucks, maybe a little higher. Put me down for the for one of the first batch, regardless of the design or color.

  6. I like the first one. Unlike Trainer, I say "Resist" is a must. Disagree with Jim as well, the Gonzales flag (COME AND TAKE IT) is white and black, DEFINITELY no surrender there! You could reverse the theme with white print on a black flag, kinda invokes the inner pirate : ) Go silk screen, you'll sell far more at a higher margin.

  7. OD green with black print would be my preference. I'd go $50, Sam, no matter what the final choice.

  8. Third one down, OD, silk screened.
Keep it affordable and in line with
the color scheme of the clothing.

  9. OD, with "Resist" included to take it from a display of patriotism to a display and declaration of defiance. I would prefer it to be durable and outside-proof, as it would be a waste to just use it indoors.

  12. I think the original purpose of a flag was it would be colorful in order to be seen and recognized on the battlefield by both friend and foe. Imagine the flags on the field during the civil war. They were symbolically inspirational and uplifted morale, and at the same time told the enemy you were there and yes, we are coming for them. To meet you. Kill you. Destroy you and your kind. Capture you if you somehow survived. To sweep the field to victory.
I think had battle flags been subdued in color (OD and black) that they would not have had any purpose. For personal home use, yes the OD flag is cool, I agree. But for organizational purposes, it must be distinctive, colorful and readily recognized at a distance. It must say "We are here and you are now in peril" to your enemies, and "Come in peace to your friends".

    1. Per your explanation of "Colors" that is why the GADSEN FLAG is so effective. Why reinvent the wheel ?

Perhaps the GADSEN should remain as the symbol of freedom and resistance to .gov tyranny ?

    2. Suggestion....change your sample flag at the top of this essay from the white background to the OD background you are leaning towards. Watch how fast the graphics disappear. There's a reason your sample flag was white on the black background.

  13. Sorry guys, a green towel tied to a pole doesn't do it for me as the "Standard". I really don't want to get folks all wrapped around the axle over this...Sorry.
If you will, imagine (as you are all mostly military or exposed to the military) the daily Flag Detail on every installation throughout the world. What does raising and lowering the "COLORS" mean to you? To me, after personally folding, presenting and saluting our national "Standard" to over 300 families in berevement came to mean something to me. Those individual experiences affect me to this day. I must say that "THE COLORS" inspire and motivate me to dispense due justice with prejudice and malice to "OUR" enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Yes, the OD flag will look good in your man-cave and may become many a last redoubt to admire it.
I however, will non-tactically bleed out crimson underneath the crimson of my homemade STANDARD.

  15. Sir, it would be my honor. I will not detract from your design, I think it is outstanding! It could not convey a stronger message to our adveraries...I am in favor of the Cavalry diagonal crimson-white, with which I am sure you are familiar. Ride To The Sound Of The Guns! The III emblem would be black embroidery. RESIST(if chosen) in SIGNAL yellow. Unit/Location designators could be added locally.... GODDAMMIT SIR, you got me all fired up now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Retraction: That would be SIGNAL ORANGE, not yellow...

  17. Please go to John Mosby's site and look at the replies to comments. Words are black on OD or dark brown. One cannot read the comments.

I would want others to see the symbolism of the graphics. Black on OD won't allow that.

    2. Mr. K,

IIIpers know who we are. But I would think one would want to ADVERTISE. What other purpose is there to create a flag representing one's ideals.

Again....I believe you should have posted a sample black on OD flag graphic on your blog. It would have visualized the poor contrast of the graphics colors.

Then again this is your show. I commend you for efforts and your disgust with the status quo of the ruling elites who make up American .gov at every level.

You sir are to be commended.

  20. Only 9 people have opted for a flag?

I'm sure the number is dynamic but 9? I hope that the design or choice of color motif is NOT the reason behind the timid response.

    Wow.

Take a public stand, let your neighbors know where you stand. This is not about color on color ambiance, Good Lord!

    Pathetic.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's the graphics. Neighbors don't have a clue what III represents. They do understand GADSEN's flag. If you don't believe me ask the bull dyke running DHS. She knows how one who flies GADSEN believes !

I believe one needs to advertise. Black on green doesn't do it. It's time to be "in your face". It's time to cease being civil. It's time to let others know what we believe. A camo colored graphic flag reeks of submission, of fear, of hiding.

Fly Gadsen and let others know where you stand. Mr. K's flag is good. Just not in black on OD. One simply cannot see it and it will advertise little if anything.

    2. It's about advertising! One doesn't see Pepsi or Coke in cans with Black on Green graphics.

Buy an "in your face Gadsen". Then the money you save send to the 527 for radio air time.

  21. I suspect a number of people are waiting until payday. But this is why I was hesitant to just drop 527 resources into something like this, just in case they sit on the shelf.

    I think we'll hit our 25 - but I'd rather see 50-100.

  26. Johnny-come-lately, here.
How about this. . . . . WHITE logo on OD/camo background. Keep the RESIST. Thicken (make more bold) the logo so it would stand out against the background better, not get lost with skinny font/design. It wouldn't take much of an overhaul.

Do that, and I'd be in for one.
