Without a Moral, Ethical and Honest People, we are nothing...

One of the recurring themes in every conversation we have in the Liberty Movement regarding the loss of our moral center as a people is personal responsibility.

Too few have it.  Too few want it.

We fix this one person at a time...

To tell others a thing is true will never do.  When your own heart asks, how will you respond?

  1. Amen on that...I find out all the time that just because someone holds the same views as you on government overreach and they believe in freedom doesn't mean they are a moral person and can be trusted...

  3. Dumb and immoral, hyper intelligent and depraved, and in the middle of it all you have people who are just downright rotten. A lot of them refuse to ask the hard questions, and those who eventually ask them refuse to give an honest answer, even to themselves. They possess a severe deficiency in philosophical inquisitiveness (the serious stuff, like Musashi and Nietzsche and others, the ones that make us question who and WHY we are.)

I have moments of darkness every so often. I pray to whatever gods may listen that I will have the strength to resist leaping down into that abyss.

I'd rather not have to be put down like a rabid dog. I'd much rather be on the side putting the dogs down. Straight and narrow, if I can.

We all have our work cut out for us...

    Clocks will get cleaned.

    Stay safe, friends.

  5. 'John Adams in a speech to the military in 1798 warned his fellow countrymen stating, "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams is a signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and our second President.'

the Founding Fathers understood the dilemma as did many of the clergy from that time frame... those "men of the cloth" known to stand against the tyranny of the king and to publicly encourage others to do the same were so noted, watched and finally targeted by the OPFOR of their day... moral behavior was expected in that day and was preached regularly... further, it was a commonly accepted supposition that the morality expected and preached had it's substance in the Scriptures...

take away the source of morality and you will lose it, whether individually or as a group however large or small... those old enough to remember the Supreme Court decision in 1962 when prayer was outlawed from the classroom - the first public step toward immorality was taken...

today many stand wondering why our nation is in such decay - the answer is right in front of us...

  6. Like it or not, there ain't gonna be a moral country until there's a free country. The reason is simple---morality can only arise by choice.

Indeed, that's why early America was moral...BECAUSE it was free. Freedom to choose the moral, necessitates freedom to choose the immoral...all that matters socially is that everyone keep their paws to themselves. Reality will be the final arbiter.

  7. so, by your reasoning, the more laws we are burdened with, the more immoral we become..???? ok, we're all allowed the moral choice of freedom to express our our choice... or is it the freedom to choose to be moral or immoral...?????

well, however you want it, you choose...

Yes, THAT'S the relevant fact. In all belief systems, or even political systems, that's the only way morality manifests.

In theory you could have a belief system that denies that, but that would be silly as well as wrong. That's irrelevant, cuz nobody here has one of those; it's an extremely odd bird who denies free will.

Most people are tied up with WHAT is right and wrong, a worthy endeavor to be sure. Indeed, that's what we should all be doing all the time. But to do that in evasion of how right and wrong manifest, would be an error of the highest order, particularly when applied across a large range of free-willed people.

Just to be clear, this particular issue isn't about what determines right from wrong. It's about how right and wrong happen, at least on Earth.
